Another top notch listen
I love this series, I like the main characters and their interactions with one another. The stories start off seemingly straightforward and as the plot moves on they get more convoluted but in a very plausible way. The narrator is never less than excellent. I’m sad I’ve only got one more in the series to go. Highly recommended

Not disappointed!
Once again, an excellent read and sorry I’ve finished it. I’ve read all of Peter Grainger’s books and would strongly recommend reading them in order as you get to know the characters well. Also he refers back to past episodes, so it adds to the enjoyment. Excellent characters and settings that can easily be imagined also add to the pleasure of these books, as well as good plots. The reader is one of my three favourite at all times and I have listened to hundreds. Highly recommended.

Love these books!
I have loved this series since the very first one! Intelligent and captivating writing combined with a gripping plot and the excellent narration of Gildart Jackson. I like where the author is going with now retired DC and look forward to the next book .

Great story and beautifully narrated. DC’s transition from detective sergeant to private eye perhaps. Can’t wait for next book.

clever story well read and written
This is one of the best series of police investigation stories I've listened to. They have been consistently riveting stories and so well read I'm only sorry that the next book seems to be the last.

Addictive series
I’ve blitzed my way through these books and love them. I love the characters, I love the frustrations and resignation of character and events. I love the little observations of life and people. And all because the series is so well read. Perfect casting.

Superb
Peter Grainger is my favourite author with David Smith being a fabulous main character. The Truth is a wonderful read and my favourite book of the year. How clever to bring him back in a new role with the comedic element ever present in the form of his struggle to come to terms with technology. Thoroughly recommended.
