Summary

This is DC Smith's third investigation with the Diver and Diver Associates agency. They have been asked by a member of Norfolk's aristocracy to look into the tragic death of her younger brother, Freddie, the late Lord Thorpe of the title. The inquest verdict was of misadventure, but it isn't long before Smith begins to suspect there has been a serious miscarriage of justice.

Just a wonderful listen. I love the descriptions of North Norfolk and know it well. What a wonderful ,compassionate main character Smith is. The delicate way the young lords metal illness is depicted and referred to is emotive and gently done. Thank you Mr Grainger.

I loved this book, one of my favourite in the series. DC does his usual understated detecting in a story that appears straight forward at the beginning , but of course it never is!

Characters that you grow very fond of!

Never get tired of reading the DC Smith books. Once hooked you are reeled slowly in and can’t put the book down

Another great book

It’s true, I now listen to these specifically because I love the narrator. I also love the characters, the wit and observation within the story.

I particularly enjoyed the author’s observation and probable experience with choosing a narrator for his books. Expertly read by.Gildart Jackson - thanks for another one Peter Grainget.

A good story excellently narrated.
