What can I say about this .. Another rollercoaster .. Quite worrying in some ways , that in some places around the world , locations like Solace Farm exist and can end up with equally devastating results .. I cried for Ruth .. excellently written and fabulous narration. Highly recommend all of Simons books

Oh my .. Tears shed at one point

What an emotional rollercoaster I wasn’t expecting & made me cry. Brilliantly written and narrated as always - seriously pulled at all the emotions in this one and culminating in an unexpected ending…. I now need to purchase the next……

Oh my goodness….

More police procedural than the last one but still more flash-bang thriller than is typical for this genre.

The raid seemed spectacularly unprepared/incoherent.

I very seldom leave reviews on anything but had to in this case. I have read a lot of this author’s work and have been working through the Ruth Hunter series. Stories so far have allowed me to forgive procedural errors but this title is beyond the pale. The events relating to the siege were especially bad showing a total lack of consultation with anyone who knows what they are doing. Add this to the usual story of dysfunctional love past and present and alcoholic meltdowns and I think my time with Ruth Hunter and Simon McCleave is well and truly over.

Total procedural impossibilities
