Story
Half-Moon Hollow's supernatural social event of the season - Zeb's Titanic-themed werewolf wedding - is coming up, and Dick Cheney (not that Dick Cheney!) needs a date. But Andrea's had enough of clever, handsome, and rakish to last a lifetime, and Dick Cheney is certainly not the sort of man you bring home to mom (not that Andrea's deadist parents are speaking to her ever since she dropped out of college and became a blood surrogate).

Story
Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger - only to discover he's really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don't faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she's known in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham - that's a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.

Story
An Atlanta ex-cop comes to Lake Sackett, Georgia, seeking peace and quiet - but he hasn’t bargained on falling for Frankie, the cutest coroner he’s ever met. Frankie McCready talks to dead people. Not like a ghost whisperer or anything - but it seems rude to embalm them and not say hello. Fortunately, at the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop, Frankie’s eccentricities fit right in. Lake Sackett’s embalmer and county coroner, Frankie’s goth styling and passion for nerd culture mean she’s not your typical Southern girl, but the McCreadys are hardly your typical Southern family.

Story
When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

Summary
In the next book in Molly Harper's Half Moon Hollow paranormal romance series, Libby (a widow turned vampire) struggles with her transition and finds out it sucks to be the only vampire member of the PTA....
Widow Libby Stratton arranged to be turned into a vampire after she was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. It wasn't the best idea she'd ever had, but she was desperate - she's not about to leave her seven-year-old son to be raised by her rigid, overbearing in-laws. On top of post-turning transition issues, like being ignored at PTA meetings and other mothers rejecting her son's invitations for sleepovers, Libby must deal with her father-in-law's attempts to declare her an unfit mother, her growing feelings for Wade - a tattooed redneck single dad she met while hiding in a closet at Back to School Night - and the return of her sire, who hasn't stopped thinking about brave, snarky Libby since he turned her. With the help of her new vampire circle, Libby negotiates this unfamiliar quagmire of legal troubles, parental duties, relationships, and, as always in Harper's distinct, comedic novels, "characters you can't help but fall in love with" (RT Book Reviews).

Still funny even if a slightly 'loose' story.
If you could sum up The Single Undead Moms Club in three words, what would they be?
Funny, easy listening!
What did you like best about this story?
It's a new and different character. I like the fact that Lacey hasn't been referred to before, we don't have any pre-conceived ideas as to who and what she is like. There are a few twists and a whole new idea explored about someone being 'changed'.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The big foot party. I can just imagine two little boys getting a glimpse of this mythical creature and being both awed and terrified.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It's a small and fairly irrelevant scene but when no one shows up to the party, i was so sad for both mum and son and hoped someone would help, and in true half moon hollow style - they do!
Any additional comments?
Like I said it is an easy book to listen to, it's not the most gripping of all the stories by Molly Harper write well and Amanda Ronconi narration brings it to life. Not disappointed.

Like a series of short stories
Would you try another book written by Molly Harper or narrated by Amanda Ronconi?
Yes. I have listened to most of her books. Amanda Ronconi is excellent as the narrator. This feature of an audiobook cannot be underestimated.
Would you be willing to try another book from Molly Harper? Why or why not?
Yes - particularly anything related to Half Moon Hollow. Her sense of humour and twisted look at modern day life is enjoyable.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
The scene shopping for school supplies was memorable. The favourite has to be the bigfoot scene.
Was The Single Undead Moms Club worth the listening time?
Yes, but only because I'm already interested in the world that has been created and can be sustained on appearances from Jane Jameson and friends. If I didn't have that to keep me listening, I might have found this book a little less riveting than others.
Any additional comments?
I generally like the Molly Harper Half Moon Hollow books. The series of 4 novels about Jane Jameson are worth a listen. The concept is creative and well thought through. This book was no exception - the main character's rationale for becoming a vampire is believable and the interactions with Jane Jameson and crew are always a joy - really, you read it for Jane's appearances. However, the episodes of this book read like a series of short stories about the main character patched together. Some of the plot elements felt like they could have benefited from longer development - like the sire tension and the death threats. While they were all quite good, I didn't have the same commitment to the main character.

Another great read (listen)!
Where does The Single Undead Moms Club rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I love Molly Harper's Half Moon Hollow series and this is another great instalment. We get to meet some new characters as well as catching up with old friends. These books are a great blend of humour, romance and the supernatural and well worth reading/listening.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances? How does this one compare?
I love all of Amanda Ronconi's performances and characterisations. She is one of a relatively small number of narrators who seem to get things right every time. I love the fact that her voices are so consistent and that you can recognise characters, who you may not have heard speak for a couple of books, instantly when they reappear.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this series to anyone who likes light-hearted and humorous romance tales with a sprinkling of supernatural magic. It's best to start with the Jane Jameson series and then move on to the Half Moon Hollow continuation. Molly Harper's separate (but linked) werewolf series is also a must have. I am just starting on the Bluegrass series too :)

Funny, sexy
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The whole series is brilliant, especially worth listening to on audiobook.
What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Fabulous voice, great with humour
Any additional comments?
Finally, I got to read the latest instalment of the series HalfMoon Hollow, or should I say listen to. I waited the extra time for the audio book and I was not disappointed. It was a blend of the usual sweet, romantic, sad, funny and sexy that I’m becoming very used to with Molly Harper, but it still managed to bring something new to the series. Wade’s character was particularly attractive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the book/audio.

What did you like most about The Single Undead Moms Club?
You are going to get yourself turned into a vampire in order to be able to look after your son as you have a terminal illness. Well that is what Libby wanted to do and succeeded including getting into trouble with the council the moment she arises, whoops.
This book is unique from the beginning you are introduced the authors quirky sense of humour and it stays throughout. From Dick Chaney being one of the vampires on the council to the blood lust training with a cat spray technique. Even as the love interests come into play you are left trying not to smirk or laugh too loud at the antics that she gets up to.
Libby grows in your heart as her fight and will to keep going to protect her son no matter what lets her character grow. The only downside is there is a lot to Jane's back story that is hinted at throughout but hard to understand if you haven't read the previous books. Not necessary I might add but probably helpful.

Vampire mom
Would you listen to The Single Undead Moms Club again? Why?
Yes i would listen again and again. This book as all other Molly Harper's books really keep me entertained.
What other book might you compare The Single Undead Moms Club to and why?
The Lady is a Vamp by Lyndsey Sands. This is a story about a parent who would do what is needed to help their child. This book was about a father who wanted to save his dying child and chose kidnap a vampire to have her changed to save her.
Which scene was your favorite?
when Libby first awoke as a vampire and met Jane and Dick. Jane begins to get on to her for advertising for someone to change her into a vampire.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
My mom is a vampire
Any additional comments?
As always, Molly Harper did not disappoint. Each time i read one of these stories i know i am going to get my laugh of the day. Poor Libby she has to face all types of problems after her change. Her in laws trying to take her son, someone trying to kill her, meeting her sire(who she is supposed to stay away from), meeting Wade( a single father), dealing with the school,PTA and finally meeting her father whom she has never known. Amanda Ronconi brings the characters to life. She does a great job in her narration.

Bigfoot likes Tim Hortons coffee
THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB was one of the more distinct installments of this series due to the heroine having to go through the usual I’m-now-a-vampire adjustment routine while also keeping one foot in the human world for her son’s sake. The role of mentor looked good on Jane Jameson, Mr Dick finally got some respect, and Bigfoot was spotted in the parking lot at Tim Hortons because really, where else can you get a decent cup of coffee in Canada!?
The story was kooky, but completely relatable as well; Libby is a single parent dying of cancer who resorts to going on Craigslist to look for a vampire sire in order to not orphan her child. Desperate times call for desperate measures! However, the outrageousness that happens after her initial transformation was all Molly Harper’s doing. The Strattons have got to be the worst in-laws EVAH, and root canals have got nothing on HALF MOON HOLLOW PTA meetings.
The romantic plot was a bit of a disappointment what with it turning into an impromptu love triangle, and the obvious candidate didn’t receive nearly enough page time IMO. Libby and Finn’s connection was rocky at best, and I just didn’t get the reason for their burning attraction other than the blood link. Wade upped the sex appeal of dad’s everywhere with his tattoos, redneck take on parenting, and playful approach to dating.
No narrator does silly quite like Amanda Ronconi with her limitless energy, knack for having her smile come through in her voice, and ability to control her delivery until the punch line. She nailed the nutty interactions between the grown-ups and kids, and she slipped back into old characters as though she’d recorded their tales yesterday. There were some minor issues with a few of the transitions, but otherwise Ronconi does it again!
THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOMS CLUB was an enjoyable staycation.

This will be a frequent re-listen. I love how the author addresses the problems of being a vampire mom and how the relationships (romantic and friendships) develop between the characters.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Libby is in the school parking lot and finds a motorcycle parked close to her minivan and the motorcycle driver comes out and they have a little tiff. He blames his bad parking on her distracting "I like Big Books" bumper sticker.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Harley runs up to Libby and hugs her. He has no fear that this is a vampire who could kill her. Libby has won him over so completely that he is oblivious of the danger. Or, it could just be that he's six.
Any additional comments?
After Rebound Vampire I had serious doubts about this book. I started having objections as to the sense of a mother turning into a vampire. Then Jane voiced my objections! Then Libby had all the same doubts I did! Thank you Molly Harper for addressing the obvious problems.
After the "romance" between the characters of Rebound, I was so thrilled to see the developing relationship between the characters in this book that it makes sense why they fall for each other and it makes Undead Mom's Club an unexpected delight.

Another Fun Story
Molly Harper does not disappoint with this latest addition to her vampire books. This was another easy listen with a newly turned mother, vindictive in-laws, Jane Jameson, Dick Cheney, PTA moms, and other assorted characters. I have to confess, I listened in one long day. It was funny, it was sad, it was well worth the credit. Now, how long until we get another book from Molly Harper?

Not Harper's Best
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I always look forward to one of Harper's release dates so I can listen to the new story immediately. However this one book, while entertaining, was not her usual quality, in my opinion. It just didn't have the fun and energy of the other books.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I always enjoy Ronconi's narrations. I have listened to all of Harper's books and Ronconi's narrations is one of the reasons.
Any additional comments?
Just waiting for the next Molly Harper to come out...We all have an off day (or publication!).

She is Fantastic!!!! I could not imagine a Molly Harper book without her!!!

I really appreciated how Libby made the decision to become a vampire..I think it was very selfless....I hated how people said she was selfish...how can anyone say what they would do in her position?
Any additional comments?
I was thrilled to get this book, and could not put it down! I love the Molly/Amanda combo and did not expect anything less than perfection...and guess what? THIS WAS GOLDEN!!
Libby is very Ill...she has cancer, and is a widow...she has a little boy and does not want her in laws raising him...so she makes the decision to become a vampire by placing an online ad...HOW COULD THIS NOT BE FUNNY???
