About this listen

In Molly Harper's witty new paranormal romance, a rare-book expert is delivering a package to Half-Moon Hollow when her plane goes down, and a sexy vampire comes to her rescue. He's clearly got ulterior motives, but does he want to date her...or devour her?

Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.

Fortunately, Anna's dashing fanged companion, Finn Palmeroy, helps her fend off the attack but not before their plane crash-lands in the forest hundreds of miles from civilization. Great, now she's stranded with a priceless tome and a rakish vampire whose bedtime is fast approaching. Why does everyone want this book so badly, anyway? Anna just wants to get it to Jane before Finn decides to turn her into dinner - or sweep her off her feet.

Okay, the second option is really tempting. But they're not out of the woods yet....

Mollys books never disappoint! An easy, enjoyable listen from start to finish. I love the way she always brings in characters from her other books.
The only downside is that it was over too quickly!

Another great book from Molly

I love these books by Molly Harper and so well narrated by Amanda Ronconi. Neurotic heroines and bad boys with a good seasoning of humour- win win for me

it's another gem

As with all Molly Harper books this story is riddled with humour, not belly laughs but a definite smile. The female lead, Anna, is neurotic and Finn, is a roguish of a vampire who falls for our heroine. Jane Jameson Nightingale turns up about three quarters way though the story. Overall a good but not excellent listen. I will be buying the next in the series when it appears.

This book completely took me by surprise; in the best way possible. Set in the modern day, I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it at first, but I was hooked from the very beginning. The blend of sharp humour, tension, and danger made it impossible to put down. The story follows a strong, witty FMC and a charming yet morally questionable MMC as they attempt to deliver a rare, one-of-a-kind book to a vampire buyer. What starts as a simple job quickly spirals into chaos; complete with a plane crash, dangerous enemies, and plenty of unexpected twists.

The chemistry between the main characters was everything I love in an enemies-to-lovers story/slow burn, snarky banter, and just enough heat to keep you on edge. The MMC isn't your typical hero; he's a little rough around the edges, but his attempts to do the right thing make him impossible not to root for. The FMC, on the other hand, is fierce, clever, and refuses to be anyone's damsel in distress. Together, they make a perfectly imperfect duo that feels alive on the page.

What really made this book stand out for me was the humour and the dialogue. The banter between Anna and Finn had me grinning the entire time, and even the side characters added layers of fun and chaos. It's the kind of story that makes you laugh, swoon, and occasionally hold your breath all in one chapter. I’m genuinely hoping there's a follow-up, because I'd love to see what trouble these two get into next!

What a roller coaster witty read

I love Molly Harper, I particularly love her audiobooks. Amanda Ronconi has a way getting across the Molly’s natural snark and sense of humour characters.

Where The Wild Things Bite seemed to lack some of the previous books polish. Anna for me was a bit of a see-saw character one min I liked her the next I disliked her. For such an intelligent person she certainly took her time understanding what she needed to do.

This instalment also seemed to lack the hilarious banter between leading lady and leading gentleman, don’t get me wrong there was banter but if you compare it to Jane and Gabriel for example you’d find it lacking.

That being said I’d still recommend it, it’s a humorous read.

A little disappointing, compared to previous book.
