When I read the first book in the DI Erica Swift series it left a lasting impression so I had high expectations of this one, book 2 in the series. I wasn’t disappointed.
It doesn’t have the shock factor of the first book but it does have the drama, the twists and the edge of the seat tension that keep you glued to the pages till the very end.

The narration was fantastic and this narrator did a great job in the delivering the emotions and turmoil of all the characters.

A must read

Really enjoyed this. Not as gruesome as the eye thief thankfully. Bit repetitive in parts where Erica is dealing with grief. But I think it also adds depth to her character.
All the way through I assumed the guy who was dead was some super creep. The twist for him was totally unseen so much so I had to go listen to the first chapter again to put 2 and 2 together. Some expected twists. The other not so much.

Great

I’ve already bought book 3 in this very good series, really enjoying them. Excellent narration.

Strong follow up

I liked the first novel and this one follows on well with another good story - a bit predictable but full of good twists.
I do find the repetition of Erika’s predicament to be a bit overly frequent.
There is also quite a lot of repetition and ‘padding’ in this story.
I will continue to listen - the narrator does a good job!

Repetition

Although I had previously read this book I went on a binge listen of the series due to the audible sale and listened to them all.

This was not as dark and shocking as the first book but took it a step further and really explored what happens when the shocking impact happened. What I struggled with how did the sister start to become so nice when at the beginning of the first book she wasnt.

I enjoyed the narration.

Interesting series
