About this listen

A missing child...a brutal attack...a plot to kill.

On the first warm day of spring, in a seemingly unprovoked attack, a young mother is stabbed.

At the same time, her five-year-old daughter is snatched.

As part of the Violent Crimes Taskforce, DI Erica Swift and her team are assigned with finding the person responsible for the stabbing and to locate the missing child. But as Erica digs deeper, she uncovers a disturbing motive behind the attack.

When another child is taken and with time running out, she needs to solve the case before many more lives are lost.

Another awesome story by M.K Farrer, I’m absolutely loving the DI Erica Swift series.
When a mother is stabbed and a child is snatched the team know it’s essential they find leads as quickly as possible, Then another child is taken what’s the motive ? Why these children ?
As the the clues are unraveled I found myself surprised, it’s great when things are intertwined and you don’t always see what’s coming.

Another fantastic narration from Emma Gregory.

Loved this part of Erica's story. Listened to it all within a couple of days. I found myself rooting for her and feeling her anxiety thanks to the narration being so much better. A risky subject to talk about in some parts with extremists being so common of late.

I'm sad no more audio books are available in the series. but will be switching to Kindle to continue the journey

Great as always

Ms Gregory’s intonation is quite hard to take at times and her pronunciation of SOCO is like SoHo not SockHo?? Erica is still to breathy and high pitched (almost whiny at times) which contrasts with her strong willed character.
I found this story much too unbelievable. Kidnaps, child cruelty and terrorism all in the same book!

Unrealistic
