Better than Book 1

In my review of book 1 I noted that the Voice Acting was Cheesy that was not the case in this book. As it is the middle book in the Trilogy (I dunno if a 4th book will be released) the story seemed a bit short & I found the end wanting. that said I would recommend this book because overall the Story is fairly good & plausible.

Great story, horrible narration/bad fake accents

I absolutely love the author and story. The plot follows a direct timeline and is easy to follow. The characters are easy to relate to and even show good character growth. The narration is terrible and almost hard to listen to. I am living in Alabama and even live in one of the places mentioned in the book, and these are the worst "southern" accents I have ever heard. Literally no one I know sounds like that that lives here. Every girl sounds the exact same and is hard to dictate who is talking sometimes. The guys and a little better, but not much. Not everyone has a thick southern drawl here. Just terrible narration overall, but a great story.

Another Great EMP Book!

This, the second book in the series is an amazing continuation of great first book. As with the first I honk he character development goes a long way to making the story believable. The bad decisions and decline of food people scattered throughout be series give these books a realistic feel. Can't wait for Book #3!

is it over yet?

Don't feel bad about skipping over this book. It is painfully slow and every single little detail is described. They are always praying about something. I could even fast forward 30 seconds and they would still be praying about one thing or another. The author pushes his Baptist beliefs throughout the character interactions to a point of taking away from the story. It is so obvious you can see it coming.

The narrating is so inconsistent it is hard to keep listening or keep up. The narrators will start with what they think is a Southern accent and move to a New York accent and then try to have a black accent but the black accent will turn back to a New York accent midway through the book. It's amazing this audio was released with this narration.

I am so glad this book is over and won't be reading any sequels.

I wanted to love this series. I did NOT.

This story is so difficult to read and harder to listen to. There to far too many prayers. Prayers are great and needed, but every other minute there’s a prayer for something. It’s overbearing. Some of the action conversations are ridiculous. Who says “grandpa, there is trouble upon us” when you are running for a weapon to save your life?! Like I said I wanted to love this but couldn’t. Buyer beware.

Disappointing and Tedious

Trying to stretch one story into a trilogy, by means of excessive repetition, just didn't work. I won't be wasting another credit.

The young adults MUST grow up.

Some people will find their way and grow into good people for this new time. Others will devolve into chaos and pain.

Book 1 and 2 combined reviews

Both books 1 & 2 do a good job building characters and plot, telling two different types of post EMP survival. The action is well written and clean with very limited mild cursing. The characters pray a lot, which shouldn’t bother a truly open minded listener. I found myself listening to these books as I was laying in bed at night, not just during my driving commute.

Getting home is not easy

One group is trying to get home. One group is at home trying to survive. Looking forward to book 3. Just downloaded it.

Don’t buy. 1st person narrative. Bad reading.

Don’t buy. 1st person narrative... Bad choice of readers... I couldn’t listen to enough of it to sum up the plot except to say that there is an EMP. I’m sure there are many better books to choose from. Don’t waste your time.
