This is my first time listening to a book by Susan Lee and I am impressed. First I want to give props to the narrators Shannon Tyo and Eric Yang, they sounded fantastic together and they brought the characters personalities to life. I really enjoyed how the story was structured by different romantic book tropes and how you got reviews of romance books from the MMC and FMC and how the tropes would mirror something relevant to the overall plot. I liked the representation of the FMC and the MMC being Korean and that their story was set in college so it felt more mature but still YA. I'm not usually into rivals-to-lovers but I think the trope was done really well and the pacing of the relationship felt satisfying. It was cliché but self aware and charming, would recommend.

This was Meta in the best way.

On the whole, this a cute love story. I was listening to this in the car, and there were several points when I could not stop myself from laughing out loud, because I could literally picture the scene. There were times when the female lead character was frustrating because she spent so much time "in her head," overthinking things, and it went on a little bit too long for me. However, this is probably a me thing as this is one of my low-tolerance areas in real life. I recommend this to all who enjoy their romance tropes.
