Surprisingl enjoyable
Not my normal genre, but I actaully really enjoyed this title. The characters were well rounded and brilliantly deliniated by the narrator. Not the most complex of story lines, but touching nonetheless. I would read more from this author, and I would definitely listen to more from this narrator.

Very sweet story, excellent narration
I love how narration can elevate (I’m not sure it’s the right word…) a book. I really liked The Road Ahead when I read it, but listening to it was even better. There’s nothing obviously extraordinary about Ella Lynch’s narration, it’s simply perfect for the story. The things that had mildly bothered me in book form didn’t matter in audio, they completely worked when told with the right tone.

So Enjoyable
When I first read & then listened to this book my mum had just died and I just identified with so much in here (no main characters die!). It is such a well written and thought out book with realistic characters (I’ve actually known people like Arabella & Alistair!!!!) And a sense of humour that makes it a pleasure to read and listen to. The narrator is excellent and conveys the scenes wonderfully. So thank you to A E Radley for writing such an enjoyable escape and Ella Lynch whose narration gave it a distinct personality!!!

enjoyable and not my usual choice.
I quite enjoyed this book despite it being different to the usual kind of books I read/listen too, it was a well written with some nice dialogue and characterization between the two main characters. The narration brought the characters out of their shell more and I really enjoyed the softly spoken Rebecca and accent given to Arrebella, I really enjoyed Ella lynch's narration style and will look out for her in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were so true to life and their ‘journey’ both literal and emotional was a joy to follow.

Average story but brilliant narration!
For a story in which not that much actually happened it felt quite long but I didn't mind because I was narrated brilliantly. Ella's voice is a joy to hear and she cleverly defined each character. 10/10 for Ella.

Quirky and amusing and with some emotional depth and sensitivity
Although this author does tend to have one younger and one older character, separated by class and economic gaps as well, I appreciate how little unnecessary drama is in her rom coms and how each story has uniquely memorable characters who get aquatinted via an inadvertent and unique adventure together. Another well spun, skillfully narrated, and enjoyable rom com tale.

A Really Cute Story
4.5 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this adorable book on my list for a while now – I finally got to jump into it over the weekend. Let me tell you, this one is really cute. It’s an enemies-to-lovers (really it’s enemies-to-almost lovers… let’s see what happens). And it was a really cute version of one. Usually when there is someone who is the “enemy” in these books they’re simply unbearable, but I thought that Radley gave each character their own rough edges. Enough that once they both finally let their guard down it ended up smoothing them out.
The story itself was cute and very easy to read. Two people are stranded when flights home for Christmas get cancelled. They are both looking for the last rental car. One can pay and the other cannot. They end up car sharing the ride home and the ensuing drive has them butting heads and learning about each other taking them from strangers to strangers who have spent 24 hours in a car with each other.
The Road Ahead also covers a lot more than just this cute new love story. It covers a lot of different deep topics I wasn’t expecting including taking care of a sick parent (and all of the “baggage” that comes along with that) to dealing with someone who is trying to pin your wings down and change you. It deals with what love really is vs what people settle for, and so much more. I thought that Radley did a great job getting all of that into the length of this book.
Overall, this book was just what I needed. It put a smile on my face. It made me cry. It made me feel all the feelings. Radley is a great author and she was really able to bring out all of my emotions during my read of this one. I’m even more excited because the second book in this series just came out and I’ll be reading it shortly.
This was my first audiobook narrated by Ella Lynch and I thought that she did a great job. She was able to give each woman a different voice and different attitudes behind each voice. And her narration speed and cadence allowed for me to blow through this adorable story.

First, I love that this was a "clean read." That seems to be hard to find in lesfic books. The author did a great job creating two individual and completely different characters. I enjoyed watching their friendship develop and appreciate that it wasn't a linear journey.

Great book
I just love to hate Arabella. I absolutely love how the journey changes both women. Rebecca is unfailingly kind. I love the age difference too. it shows that love doesn't care about ages, social status, gender, or anything really. Love just loves.
