I'm not one for listening to books around the 10 hour mark, as I'm a HGV driver and realistically a 10 hour book will at most only take me 2 days to complete. But after getting the first 3 books as a compilation I was hooked. I really enjoyed the pace, each book never seemed to drag for too long. the story as a whole took a little longer than I would have liked to get to the meat of what was happening in the wider world. That aside I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the whole series.

I liked the whole story, not predictable and always a dirty joke with Zane around. a little disappointed how Roo never developed more magic either ancient or high from Rasmum - some secret connection to enhance his connection with animals and nature woukd have been good. that's why the king wanted him? but the book was great and I really liked Roo's desire for ale 👍🏼
