I gave up about 90mins in as couldn't focus on the story due to the ridulous character voices. I found them very distracting - particularly Fiona, but also other characters that sounded like bad comedic caricatures. I may go back to the book another time and read it, but can't listen to the audio book.

I'm struggling to write this review as I generally enjoy books by Mark Edwards, but I can't tell if I enjoyed this or not as I listened to it through Audible and the female narrators voice, unfortunately distracted from the story. I thought the idea was to narrate, not act, and I found the different accents and strange tones really offputting. It made the characters seem like caricatures of themselves. So I don't know if that's how Mark intended them to "sound" or if it was just the narrator. So on the back of that, I can't really say if this was a good read or not. Sorry
