Summary

A deadly black widow has eliminated three husbands and counting. But Nameless knows her one weakness. To bring truth and its consequences to her crimes, the vigilante must spin a web of his own.

Lucia - current last name, Rickenbah - has made a fortune by marrying rich men who tend to drop dead. But the superstitious blonde believes in more than money and murder. Nameless’s job is to scare a confession out of Lucia, and as the psychological warfare escalates, even he may be in for a shock.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz comes The Praying Mantis Bride, part of Nameless, a riveting collection of short stories about a vigilante nomad, stripped of his memories and commissioned to kill. Follow him in each story, which can be read or listened to in a single sitting.

Good story and narration!

This was another good story of the Nameless man. I really am enjoying these short stories. They are good and things happen quickly.

This one was about a superstitious psycho woman. I won't go any further than that since it was a short story and I don't want to give anything away.

As for the narration, Edwardo Ballerini does a great job on all the voices including the female voices. He has a very nice reading voice too.

NICE SHORT

this was well written, although too short. I would have enjoyed a few more chapters. I look forward to another book.

interesting but unlikely

while the plot was farfetched, the narrator kept my attention. it will not win any awards but it is interesting enough for a short story.

I bailed early

True confession - I only made it halfway through this third installment of the "Nameless" series. Maybe it was because I'd listened to the first two back-to-back and launched right into the third, but the stories started to feel very similar: truly horrible person being dealt with by a vigilante with no known background but seemingly limitless access to information and supplies in order to deliver justice in the most horrifyingly appropriate manner. I need a little more nuance (i.e. real humanness) to my heroes and villains.

Not to get to philosophical, but perhaps this is the story America wants these days: black and white characters exhibiting extremes in behavior.

This 3rd Story not Quite as Engaging

This is the 3rd story in the series. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first two, but it was ok. At this point, the history and identity of Nameless is still a mystery as is the identity and motivation of Ace of Diamonds.

The narrator, Edoardo Ballerini, is superb!

Great short story

Love how Dean Koontz weaves a fantastic tale of how he makes evil pay for their crimes.
