Summary

Ryan "Quicksave" Romano is an eccentric adventurer with a strange power: he can create a save-point in time and redo his life whenever he dies.

Arriving in New Rome, the glitzy capital of sin of a rebuilding Europe, he finds the city torn between mega-corporations, sponsored heroes, super-powered criminals, and true monsters. It's a time of chaos, where potions can grant the power to rule the world and dangers lurk everywhere.

Ryan sees many different routes, and from Hero to Villain, he has to try them all. Only then will he achieve his perfect ending...no matter how many loops it takes.

Deadpool meets Dr Who - Loved it!

I'm writing this after devouring all 3 books.. You'll either love it or hate it. I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed it despite being new to time travel books as a sub-genre. The main character has a quirky and unashamedly Deadpool-like personality, which aligns well with the author's intentions, as evident in the MC's name (Ryan), mannerisms, and the excellent choice of narrator.

One aspect I particularly liked was that the MC is OP, but he has to grind and it comes at a cost that affects his psyche, making it more consequential. Its also not always immediately obvious to the people around him, again adding another dimension.

It can become a bit intricate with the various character names, factions, and organizations, paying attention to these details enhances the listening experience.

If you appreciate superheroes and Deadpool-style humour combined with time travel, this book delivers a thrilling adventure. Another positive point for is that this story arc concludes within this trilogy, avoiding the trap of becoming an endless web serial turned audiobook.

Overall, The Perfect Run has secured a spot among my favourite reads.

Not for the innocent!

This book is amazing. It has a solid plot, hilarious interactions and well fleshed out characters. There is a lot of dark humour. I could see this being a hit Netflix TV series.

Thought it would be bad

The ending made me cry big manly tears. I somehow got very emotionally attached to the silly guy and felt the sadness with him.

Top ten series

This series has become one of my all time favorites. I don't keep a numbered list but if I did it would at least be in the top ten. Brilliantly plotted out and one of those books that just constantly makes you question where the f*** this author gets his magic from and can I have some too, please!?

Perfectly good time loop book

This is a book with a time loop and all the associated trope of that. The author is good about skipping over repetitive parts and makes the story quite quick and enjoyable.

I would say that the story isn't really complete. I think the three books in this series should be seen as volumes of one story (and one loop) rather than standalone novels in series.

The characters are good and had depth. The setting is also well described. The humour got a few smiles from me too.

Overall, a good book with good narration that I would recommend.

A Chaotic Good Time

A surprising and refreshing listen that blends some mild humour with pop sci-fi; enjoyable from beginning to end with a likeable protagonist, a great cast of characters, and a really fun narrative. At times the pop culture references stray a bit into the cringy try-hard area, but this occurs rarely enough to not detract from a great story. Well worth a listen!

pleasantly surprised

I thought this might be a little cringey at first, but it was actually great. The humour while a little edgey and lolsorandom at times actually fit the story and character well and was never too over the top.

One of the best audio books i've listened to.

I've listened to my fair share of audio books. I can easily say that The Perfect Run is one of the best i've listened to. The narration is amazing and the story itself is fantastic. I cannot recommend this book enough .

You are forgiven for "Never die Twice"

Maxime, you made me fall for you when you wrote about the most glorious hero to ever live, Vainqueur, in a tale which also held the greatest, most horrendous villain any book has ever seen. You did this only to take my heart and rip it out with the lie that was Never die twice, a book which promised one thing in it's synopsis and delivered...a feeling that the author wished he wasn't writing a litrpg.

But with this book I forgive you, oh how I forgive you. Purchase this book, even if you're still pissed with him over Never die twice, this book will more than make up for it.
