About this listen

Ruthann has lived through the loss of both a son and her husband. Now, after being forced into retirement, she sets off on a road trip to visit family down home. She takes the trip alone against the wishes of her family. What she doesn't tell them is she intends to end her life while she's away. During the drive, Ruthann becomes lost in the woods.

After spending much of the day stranded in the woods, she notices a man sitting under a tree. When she walks up to him, she sees he has no legs. Yet, he's sitting patiently under a tree, with no memory of how he got there or who he is. But there are things the man does recall; he recalls Ruthann over the thousands of years he has known her, and together, they take a journey through many lifetimes.
