About this listen

What if your worst enemy was your only hope?

When a 15-year-old girl fails to make it home after school, DI Heather Filson believes she’s dealing with just another teenage runaway.

The girl’s grandfather, a notorious Glasgow gangster, disagrees. Convinced one of his underworld enemies has grabbed her, he’s prepared to bathe the city in blood in order to bring his princess home.

But as the days pass and the evidence mounts, Heather starts to fear that they’re both wrong and that a brutal killer from the past has returned.

A killer who once stalked the streets of her hometown, preying on vulnerable young victims.

A killer that DI Heather Filson is uniquely familiar with....

Another great story, from my favourite author, The only negative was Angus King didn't narrate it. Cathleen done a good job but Angus does "shnecky's" voice better lol ...

I absolutely love all the Logan and Hoon books, and the narration is top class with them, so I was worried by the very poor reviews on this book, but I'm glad I used a credit and gave it a chance! Although this is related to those other books it stands quite well alone, plus I honestly fairly disliked Heather in those books until her last appearance lol her personality and character comes through so much better with the female narrator

Great story as always from J D Kirk

A belter of a story

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Funny, sad, scary all mixed in to make fabulous stories.

Sadly, I, did not enjoy this character's story at all. The strong emphasis on her 'toughness' was unnecessary and quite crude at times. I really did not warm to her at all.

I personally felt this story was spoilt by the Narrator "over egging' the main character's father situation. She had him sound like a man on his death bed... Constantly!!

Dementia doesn't make folk sound as if they have minutes left to live all the time.

She is a very poor substitute for Angus King that's for sure!

JD Kirk is a very talented writer
