About this listen

Do you know who your friends are?

When a much-loved Kilmarnock police constable is found beaten to death in his home, all signs point to a burglary gone wrong. But, when a second officer is slain while walking the beat, it becomes clear that something much more sinister is afoot.

Somebody is murdering cops.

Harassed by an infuriating new partner and a teenage true crime podcaster, DI Heather Filson must track down a brutal killer while tensions between the police and the public explode into violence.

With rioting breaking out across Glasgow, and running battles filling the streets, Heather’s latest investigation is no longer just a murder hunt.

It’s a race to stop Scotland’s largest city from tearing itself apart.

This Little Piggy is the second DI Heather Filson novel from multi-million selling Scottish crime fiction author, JD Kirk.

JD Kirk does it again this book had me on the edge of my seat. Who doesn't love a hardass female detective

Fantastic

This is a good story and full of the humour and quirky characters you come to love by JDKirk. Great to have Tammi Jo partnered with Heather and also to see Heather adapting to having friends. Next book is going to be interesting as I guess it’s going to follow on from the ‘call’?

Cathleen McCarron is a good narrator but female narrators often cannot do male voices well, and they tend to sound either throaty or nasal.
It took me a while to settle into listening to book one, and I had the same problem again here.

We are used to hearing Angus King’s narration in the other Books and therefore familiar with the voices he has already created for these characters. That makes it harder for any narrator to follow.

The Heather Filson series so far is good, but the Jack Logan books are still my favourite and I highly recommend them.

Good Story

Dreadful narration which spoilt the book. There are far too long gaps throughout and dreary voice. A great shame as JD Kirk is one of my favourite authors. I hope someone else narrates future books in this seers. If not, I won't be buying future ones!

Good story though a bit gory at times. Good characterisation.

It was so great to reconnect with the Di and Ace. This time with Tammy Joe - I’ve missed her! Such a great story. I listen to it over two days. Totally gripped. Awesome second book. Roll-on book three for next big adventure

Absolutely loved it.

Really enjoying Heathers character.
The introduction of the neurodiverse Tammy Jo alongside Ace is inspired.

Another great story
