Thrust into an unknown, unwanted situation, most would feel panic, fear anger, and fall into chaos. Erik and Rugrat are not immune to those feelings, but they have stepped into chaos so many times, it is simply a different challenge. Two weeks ago, Erik lost his legs and his arm. Today he got a message. "You have been randomly selected to join the Ten Realms. One may choose to ascend the Ten Realms, thereupon making a request to the Gods of the Realms. Only those who are Level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 may ascend to the next realm. Fortune favors the strong!”

Milton Frederick was arguably the best player of Crowned Lieges of Destiny in the entire world. As the strategy coordinator for one of the top guilds, he was beginning to actually make a living from it. That was, until he was abducted by aliens. Severely damaged and confused about what happened to him, he woke up to find himself trapped inside a massive chicken egg on a strange, primitive world filled with curious - and deadly - creatures. Now, in order to survive, Milton has to rely on a snarky, foul-mouthed AI guide to show him what it means to be a Station Core.

After saying goodbye to his life on earth, he never expected to find a brand new world still awaiting for him. One where immortals flew through the clouds and ancient evils hid below the surface. One where fables, myths, and legends filled every corner. One where he could finally start anew. Now, however, John is about to learn a valuable lesson, for any place humanity rules will always be the same - a domain where sin and ambition can only be tamed by power. For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies? Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart.

Story
I spent most of my life trying to get by with whatever happiness I could, that included alcohol, food, and porn. My death was unpleasant and humiliating. However, death is something we all need to go through. A bit like a proctology exam: necessary, but never anything one wants to go through while it's happening. However, death was supposed to be the end of it. Either way, the pain, suffering, and failures were supposed to be over. No, I ended up as a small stone, strapped to a table, while a pimple-faced teenager rubbed my facets and told me how "lovely" I was.

Steve doesn’t know who he is. Or who he was. He doesn’t know anything, actually. Not even where he is. Other than a vast open field of dirt. All Steve knows is that he’s apparently supposed to build a farm. At least that’s his only workable assumption. Given the number of farm-tools left to him. That and the massive number of sacks full of seeds. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the strangest part of this new life. Hidden inside the farm tools, Steve finds messages. Almost 4 stars, but some glaring problems
The book is largely improved from the rest. The RPG elements have been completely abandoned other than token mentions. Which is better than the way it was just under implemented before.
The book also has a few of unexpected and odd references. Which leaves me confused.
But what really holds the book back and a lot. Is the way the book handles the main challenge. The enemy time powers. In that the writer basically wrote himself into a corner with these overpowered dudes and proceded to just ignore them.
Basically bad guys can reverse time for 15 minutes at will, happens automatically if they die and it seems to habe unlimited uses. So to die they have to be put into a situation where going back in time for 15 minutes doesnt save them and then accept death.
Not a single one of the time guys died in a way that I found satisfactory except perhaps the one who was tortured until he agreed to stay dead.
As it is possible she engaged him then waited 15 minutes before torturing him. So that way when he went back in time he was already under her power.
Seems like a strategy easily beat by enemies just making sure they dont engage for longer than 14 minutes at a stretch before going back in time, but I digress.
Every other time, going back 15 minutes in time would put them to a period before engagement. Letting them flee and try again. Even the first kill was specified it was taking 16 minutes for the shuttle to be primed to blow. So thats 14 minutes to set the shuttle down and try something else.
The thing is, any kind of limitation on the power would have fixed things. A cool down for instance. But the author wrote them overpowered and just didnt have them defeated properly. And that to me is an unforgivable failure.

short sweet engrossing. skylar grant manages to dive into a new world and make it worthwhile. though somehow manages to tell an epic tale in minutes while others need hours or days.
