Summary

The Map of Consciousness Explained is a compilation of Dr. David R. Hawkins’ lectures on human consciousness and their associated energy fields. Using muscle testing, Dr. Hawkins conducted over 250,000 calibrations during 20 years of research to define a range of values, attitudes, and emotions that correspond to levels of consciousness. This range of values, along with a logarithmic scale of 1 to 1,000, became the Map of Consciousness, which Dr. Hawkins first wrote about in his New York Times best-selling book Power vs. Force (1995). In the lectures on this audio download, Dr. Hawkins explains the classifications and energy fields of the Map of Consciousness, making them comprehensible and useful in daily life. With this unique higher understanding, we are able to evolve spiritually to be freer, happier human beings in all areas of our lives.

Mostly good

I enjoyed the first half, it was obvious in retrospect, but hearing it so clearly and explicitly was absolutely worth it.
In the third quarter he lost me, when he became a bit 'judging' (equated freedom of speech with being able to kill whoever you wanted, sodomy is an aberration, etc.).
Then the last quarter he centered again.
Overall, it's worth reading for anyone who feels any kind of calling to more than just me me me me.

Not for me on audible

...Some fascinating material in here but now i understand why so many people downvoted it on audible, tho it was nice to hear his laugh, some of it was just inaudible or difficult to make out, Interesting but would have preferred to read it. I'd definitely read any of his books i could get free.

don't start here

if you are a follower of Dr Hawkins then of course this is essential listening but if you are new to his work. Start with letting go the pathway of surrender. this is a compilation of lectures done before he published transcending the level of conciousness which is a far superior book to this. Though this too has gems. and it's nice to hear him speak.

Never gets old

I listened many times and will likely continue. Just hearing his teaching are meditative and activate the higher spiritual bodies to produce a feeling of safety and understanding. I listen when times get tough to get in touch with the Truth.

Great resource

"Nonlinear Learning takes place as a result of familiarity rather than logical sequenced, processed intellection." as said by Dr Hawkins

This audio is a really easy way to become familiar.

Narrator Was Cracking Jokes

After a couple of serious chapters, the narrator was mostly speaking frivolously and cracking incoherent unfunny jokes. And it wouldn't play on my phone always.

Doesn't Match the Written Book

I bought the audiobook to have an alternative to the written book. What I discovered is that his widow has compiled a series of audios from his live talks which do not follow the text. Sadly disappointing and desperate move to make money after the author has passed away. Even the written book has a different style of voice (probably because he didn't write it). The last published title of which Dr. Hawkins wrote is Letting Go.

Energy

I hung on every word. There is such truth and personal experience portrayed. Dr. Hawkins’ sense of humor lightens up the depth of the subject matter and makes it the real deal.

should have just read Transcending the Levels...

didn't know it was a presentation. thought it was a reading of Map of Consciousness. it wasn't bad but a book would have had more info in less time I think. I recommend his book Transcending the Levels instead which is more what I was looking for.

Great Content, lousy jokes

The casual jokes distracted from the content of the book, which is pure gold otherwise.
