Late one night Danny Walters tucks his young son back into bed. He realizes the carpet is soaking wet just as he sees a man standing at the bottom of the stairs. The man lights a match. The house goes up in flames.

The next day, Detectives Tanzy and Byrd witness a horrific video posted online. Someone stood in the back garden filming as Danny and his whole family burned alive.

Across town, four women wake up in a dark, cold room. Every time they fall asleep, one of them is taken. People on the internet are paying good money to watch what happens to them.

Then Tanzy and Byrd get a sickening call. There's an unconscious woman balanced right on the edge of her fourth-floor balcony. Someone drugged her and put her up there. The detectives race to the scene, just as the woman's phone rings, waking her. She panics...

characters really well rounded - flawed of course the human trait....no one is perfect - even when they think they are...
I loved the 3 books eating them quickly the working class way....?
now I wait for the newest book to be on audio....as I am older & fall asleep if I begin to read & of course the words in many books are small....can't see them mate

I enjoy these books although the corrupt police is concerning. Good storyline, I did have my suspicions about Linda. Poor Byrd, so many incidences. A great ending.

Where’s the next in the series, I’m addicted and want more. Brilliantly narrated and a captivating story kept me prioritising listening over everything else this past couple of days. Need more in this series x

It’s a great story, “unputdownable”.
The narrator is outstanding and really brought the story to life.
