About this listen
I was only looking for a roommate....
I’m the town widow.
Not the only one, but the youngest by far.
My husband died one year after our wedding, casting me as the charity case in my small Alaskan town.
Since then, everyone—including my big family—try to keep me busy as if that will stop the haunting memories from resurfacing.
Do I know it’s time to move on? Of course, but that’s easier said than done.
Then Van Adler rides into town. His bad boy vibe complete with his motorcycle and tattoos causes my body to fill with need for the first time since my husband’s death.
To make matters worse, he’s the one who answered my ad for a roommate. Sharing the close quarters of our two-bedroom apartment means I have to set some ground rules like keeping his rippled abs covered. Soon we become friends, he’s making me dinners, and we’re binge-watching television shows all night.
The more our lives intertwine, the more I start to fall for him. Leaving me wondering, can you find the love of your life twice in one lifetime?

Book 2 in the lake Starlight series, and we have Brinley and Van's story.
Brinley is a young widow after marrying at the age of 20 she loses her husband quite quickly after their wedding.
She has been grieving ever since, now she needs a roommate to cover the rent because Calista is now married and no longer lives with her.
Van comes into town looking to stay for 8 weeks while he takes a break from his job as a coastguard.
He has been ordered to take a break by his boss and so decides to take a job as a bartender and answers the ad for a roommate by Brinley.
Wires get crossed and Brinely thinks Van is a girl because he uses his birth name Carey,so she gets a shock when she sees him at her door...Tall tattooed and strikingly gorgeous Van is not what she expected.
There is an attracton between them and a chemistry that Brinley finds hard to process without feeling guilty over her dead husband.
They become really good friends and so close but Van stirs things inside Brinley that she has never felt before even with her husband, and she decides that Van is the man who she wants to be intimate with for the first time since her husbands death.
I LOVE Van he is so sweet, patient and kind he brings Brinley back to life and makes her smile again.I totally fell in love with Van and the intimate moments with Brinley are so incredibly HOT.
Brinley is just coasting through life but she is unhappy with her life she doesn't like her job and I love the way Van encourages her with his support,to seek out what she really wants to do Art.
Van has a secret though and although it is probably obvious for everyone else I only got the bombshell that drops at the last moment.
Narrated beautifully by Melissa Moran and Connor Crais they both told this story with feeling and emotion when needed...I loved and enjoyed them both telling this story they are so talented.
The Issue With The Bad boy Roommate is such a great audiobook which I thoroughly adored listening to.
Excellent.
