In the heat and heart of New Orleans, secrets fester like wounds. Dr. Benjamin “Doc” Brash, a brilliant forensic pathologist haunted by personal tragedy, uncovers a chilling truth at a Tulane Medical School reunion: his former classmates are dying in suspicious, calculated ways. Thrust into a heart-pounding hunt for a killer, Doc must confront his past to save his future.
Decades ago, in the gritty wards of Charity Hospital, Doc and nine other ambitious medical students swore a twisted vow, mocking the Hippocratic Oath’s sacred promise to “do no harm.” Their pact: if faced with terminal suffering, they’d ensure a merciful end, vowing “do not suffer.” Now, someone is turning this Hypocritical Oath into murder with lethal precision. Joined by fertility specialist Dr. Bryce Teller and tenacious FBI Agent Miranda Montgomery, Doc navigates post-Hurricane Katrina chaos and dark secrets to unmask a psychopath before he or she strikes again.
