Summary

Ofelia Archer has a full life...which only gets fuller when a dead body lands in her backyard.

As owner of New Orleans’ premier supernatural speakeasy, Ofelia is always in the thick of things when the witch hits the fan. That’s no exception now...even when the local police start breathing down her neck.

Zach Sully has a colorful background. As a panther shifter, he keeps his true origins secret while walking the colorful streets of the French Quarter keeping law and order. A tourist murder draws him into new and uncharted territory, and a feisty witch is at the center of it.

Sully and Ofelia circle one another...warily...as they both try to solve a mystery that revolves around an outsider who somehow had ties to their little corner of the world. Eventually, they’re going to have to join forces...and it’s not exactly a comfortable meeting of the minds.

Chemistry is one thing. Trust is another. Ofelia and Sully will be forced to get over their inner misgivings and unite if they want to solve the crime...and stay alive in the process.

Welcome to a magical world, where the characters are colorful, the magic is fantastical, and the drinks are poured strong.

It’s Bourbon Street, baby, and you’ll never be the same again.

So Enjoyable!

What a pleasure it was to listen to this audiobook!
I loved the characters and the interaction between them and also the way this well written and enjoyable story unfolded.
In addition to a Cosy Mystery, we have a budding romance. Lovely!
I also loved what the narrator, Meghan Kelly has done with the voices and in particular the sultry tones of Sully, the Detective. Her males voices always astound me.
The other thing of note is that when listening to any of her voices, I seem to be able to conjure up the character and this adds to the listening pleasure.
I listened to a review copy of the audiobook and my voluntary and unbiased review is recorded above.

Fun cosy mystery

I really enjoyed listening to this Ofelia runs a bar for supes in New Orleans . Zach Sully enters the bar saying he’s a detective and there’s a dead body next to the bar Ofelia gets involved with the murder. Although she thinks there’s something about Zach she won’t admit it and her sarcasm towards him had me laughing although she’s met her match in Zach as he gave as good as he got.

This cozy listen will grab you

First time I listened to this author . Once I saw it was a supernatural, PNR , story I knew I would love it. Also once I saw who was performing it I knew it will be a Gem . The story has some sarcasm, smart scenes with the heroine being in the top of her form . City is full of supernatural it’s full of mystery, the city is New Orleans . Some scenes made me laugh .

Meghan Kelly performance was fantastic. Her voice is addictive. Strong and very clear.

Spellbinding

Lily Harper Hart has a wonderful story with The Hexorcist. I found the storyline and mystery of “who done it”, refreshing. I didn’t immediately know who the bad guy was, each suspect/ character was well built and I was questioning everyone of them. The fabulous Meghan Kelly did a stellar job with character distinction, flow, and consistency. If this book is any indication of the work of Lily Harper Hart, I will be looking forward to adding more of her books to my library!

Fun!

This one has a lot of action in it! A powerful witch and a panther shape shifter police officer made for a fun mystery. Meghan Kelly’s narration of it was fabulous! Her accents for the characters make you believe that they really exist today.

Sassy and a murder.

Good fun and good entertainment with a witchy murder mystery and screwed up family dynamic, then a hunky lawman thrown in the mix.
well narrated and a nice size for an afternoon.

Fun story with great narration

This is a fun paranormal cozy mystery. I loved Ophelia and Sully. I think the hint of a future romance between the two made their interactions more interesting. This story was unpredictable and easy to listen to. The narration was wonderful.

That voice though!

I can't even tell you if the story was any good because the narrator was so bad. Her voice is grating. I'm sorry, but just read the book.

Fun & interesting book

I enjoyed listening to this book. At first it might seem like a regular story about a murder & a detective investigating it, but making it a town of magic put a nice spin on it. It kept my interest from the beginning to the end.
The narrator, Meghan Kelly, did an awesome job! It boggles my mind how well she reads male voices. She gives each character a voice of its own & brings the book to life. Loved it!

story it self is good

ok so the story is good but the person voice for reading is so hard to listen to ( its my view some might like it but its not for me). the main character is more like a teenager then a adult which at times is Irritating. I did like the story itself though.
