Summary
In The Bone Witch, Tea mastered resurrection - now she's after revenge....
No one knows death like Tea. A bone witch who can resurrect the dead, she has the power to take life...and return it. And she is done with her self-imposed exile. Her heart is set on vengeance, and she now possesses all she needs to command the mighty daeva. With the help of these terrifying beasts, she can finally enact revenge against the royals who wronged her - and took the life of her one true love.
But there are those who plot against her, those who would use Tea's dark power for their own nefarious ends. Because you can't kill someone who can never die....

Spellbinding Sequal
As this beautiful yet dark tale continues, I find that I have become even more enchanted with these books. With what feels like a nod to Japanese or Eastern culture giving it a particularly special originality, I feel like The Bone Witch and now this sequel have a wonderful spellbinding quality that leaves me hoping that this world continues to grow even after we find out what happens to Tea and company. Excellent narrative, very well narrated by the Will Damron (the present) and Emily Woo Zeller (the past) and a fantastic journey that I look forward to continuing.

I couldn't even tell who was who
The narrator absolutely ruined this book. I couldn't tell who was speaking, who was who. The faster paced of this book compared to the first should have had the narrator adjusting to it but she did not.

even better all around
This series is getting better and better. Loved this book, it had a bit more romance (completely clean), tons of magic (of course), and a lot more action with some amazing monsters, armies and the dead too. We discover some secrets and unveil a few mysteries, but there are plenty left to motivate me to pick up book 3. The world building was less dauting this time around and we got introduced to a few new major characters.
Beautifully written, this fantasy is really addictive and feels like a mixture between fairy tale and a war prn story.
Even if a bit melancholy and slow, the narration was excellent and fits the story.

Brilliant
Brilliant Book. I absolutely loved it. It's very rare to see the second book in the series being so much better than the first especially when the first one was very good. Rin Chupeco weaved magic with this one. I had trouble putting it down but unfortunately sleep was needed. I was so engrossed in listening that I was startled when we reached the end. Thank goodness I have the third one and I can start listening to it immediately. The narrators Emily Woo Zeller and Will Damron did an amazing job and justice to the story and Rin's hard work. Every single character was brought to life by Rin's words and the narrators and I felt every bit of their emotions. I really, really hope the third book does not let me down as my expectations are sky high now.

better than the first
what an absolute improvement to the first book. thank god no one was dancing for 10 chapters.!! OK im joking. but yes. I'm glad the writer finally decided to focus on more important topics.
but the mystery that started with book one. is still... a mystery. so many questions that this book does not answer.
I'm glad we get to experience more of this world. excited for book 3.
the female narrator is way better in this book. she did great.
the male narrator still amazing if not even better than the first book. this guy is an absolute pleasure to listen to. I want him to narrate my life.
Good book.

still enjoying it despite the weird voices
still a good story, the voices are really what get to me, so many of them are the same and the male voices (most) are so bad
