Summary

Read by Imelda Staunton, The Gruffalo audiobook edition, complete with a song and read-along track, brings to life the animals that live in the deep, dark wood....

A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.

A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.

Walk further into the deep dark wood, and discover what happens when a quick-witted mouse comes face to face with an owl, a snake...and a hungry Gruffalo!

Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's The Gruffalo is an undisputed modern classic and has become a best-selling phenomenon across the world with over 13.5 million copies sold. Amazing reading!

Kids and I love this book so much. We read it so many times we know all lyrics! The voice here is so special. You feel you are in the story at the same time. Very good.

Terrible version of a fabulous story.

The book is exceptional but this is a very disappointing narration. Bought it for bedtime for my toddler. He adores the book. But switched this off after 2 minutes to look for a better telling of it.

OTT voiceover & music

I wish there was an option for a narrator like Alex Armstrong to just read the story without all the music & special effects. Useless as a bedtime story.

All the chapters are unnecessary & add zero value.

Not worth the cost

Not worth the cost of the audible version for the length of it. Should have been more than one story for that price.

Such a shame

This story is brilliant, and my little girl absolutely loves it, so I bought the audio book to listen in the car, unfortunately the voice actors high pitched portrayal and the random music in it completely spoil it! It's irritating and we didn't actually listen for more than 5 minutes in the end
