I didnt like the swearing it just seemed incongruous, did ancient Egyptians use the f word the way we do?

Prof Roberts has brought the historic characters and the world they lived in to life in this exciting novel.
It is well written and an enjoyable listen if you are interested in the Egyptians, the Romans or just a historic novel fan.
I wouldn’t be put off by the review mentioning too much bad language in the book, unless you are of a particularly sensitive disposition. To me it appeared contextual and appropriate to the characters and story.

The story itself was good and appears to be based on historical fact. What spoiled it for me was the pronunciation of certain terms by one of the narrators.

SO MUCH USE OF f WORD totally unnecessary and it became a real issue for me.Cleopatra used it as part of normal speech,I gave up countin g how many times it was used.
