Summary

A new update arrives to the ultra-popular online game, Realm of Arkon. With Patch 17, the level of immersion experienced by players in their gaming capsules has made virtual reality indistinguishable from the real world. But every gamer's dream becomes a nightmare for Roman Kozhevnikov after he gets confined to Arkon against his will. And not just to Arkon, but to its deadliest zone - Demon Grounds. Playing - or rather living - as his character Krian, it's not just about survival for Roman. He longs to exact revenge for his banishment to the virtual world where the sensation of pain has reached 100 percent...

Great story, Narration less stellar

I think Arkon overall has an interesting story and I have enjoyed getting to know the characters, I find the loosely connected stories can be quite jarring and that the narrator has some interesting pronunciation choices.

Starts good

Well it starts good, pickup where the first book ended. However the towards the end of the book the story starts to fall apart, with the MC not really changing and still being handed everything he needs. The final few chapters again focus on Max where the plot really falls apart with character changing personalities between sentences and the new character s appearing with no introduction and just join in leave the listener confused.

The Games rules also start to brake down with several acts that where mentioned to be impossible in the first book being threated and implied to have happened with no one question this brake in logic or the game.
