Summary

Disillusioned journalist Tom Langdon must get from Washington to L.A. in time for Christmas. Forced to take the train across the country because of a slight 'misunderstanding' at airport security, he begins a journey of self-discovery and rude awakenings, mysterious goings-on and thrilling adventures, screwball escapades and holiday magic.

He has no idea that the locomotives pulling him across America will actually take him into the rugged terrain of his own heart, where he will rediscover people's essential goodness and someone very special he believed he had lost.

In equal parts hilarious, poignant, suspenseful and thrilling, The Christmas Train by David Baldacci is a delightful journey filled with memorable characters who have packed their bags with as much wisdom as mischief....

Saccharine sweet

If this book were a film you would watch it on wet Sunday afternoon and it would still be too corny! It is corny, predictable and sweet. I’d that’s your thing then it may cheer you up, if not walk away now.

such a real, unexpected treat. Such a evocative setting and storyline No need for guts or gore Baldacci kept me captive with great charectars and plot twists. superb vocalisation by Matheson who created an equally impressive set of voices & accents made for a journey I am sure to take again.

A great Christmas tale

Once again David Baldacci weaves a masterful tale, bringing together excellent characters. Tim Matheson brings the characters to life throughout this funny and heartwarming journey.

Worst ever

If this had been the first David Baldacci book I had ever listened to it would have been the last!
The story is poor, the characters are poor and the delivery is poor.

Dire Is this even written by Baldacci??

I think this has to be the worst book I’ve ever heard/read in my life!! Saccharine, cliched, banal etc. No character depth , narration mediocre at best! Are combination of pink panther, carry on whatever film you want to insert, St Trinians. Etc.Oh and did I mention corny. It only confirmed what always suspected, Americans have no stoicism if they think being stuck on a train fir a few days was a disaster !!! Dataport that she will not be getting any money from me soon. I think he must’ve dictated this while having a cup of coffee. He certainly gone down in my estimation. I know we don’t read Baldacci for high brow literature but this has sunk to new depths of appallingness. Waste of a credit!!!
