These characters are from the same world as The Thief. Dante and Valentina both work for the Padrino of a Mafia Family in Venice. He is his friend and Broker, second in command, she is a Hacker working for the same family.
Dante has been watching over Valentina and her daughter for ten years, after he rescued her from a bad situation with her Ex, his Brother. Now they are thrown into working together and they just rub each other up the wrong way, but hey you know what they say about love and hate.
These two are great together, Dante is sexy, overbearing and brutal when needed. Valentina is a strong, independent woman fiercely protective of her daughter. Together they navigate the many twists and turns the story takes along with a number of other very strong characters, who I hope are going to get their own stories.
This is a great listen. While it isn't absolutely necessary it, I would recommend The Thief as well. The story isn't dependant on listening to it as well, The Broker will give you a better insight to many of the characters and it too is a great story. Either way grab The Broker and see for for yourself
