Really enjoyed this book. Good characters and a nicely rounded story. Great narration too. Would read more by this author.

I enjoyed this second book of the Murder at the Opulence Hotel series. It was engaging and had a wonderful array of characters. There was one thing I really didn't like. I've never been keen when an author uses song lyrics in a book, and usually I would skip past this if I'm reading a physical copy. As I listened to the audiobook, I found the singing off-putting and cringy, but maybe that's just me. Other than that, I would recommend this series of novellas, and I'm going straight on to book 3.

A fun read!

I was given this book to review.

Overall I gave it a 3.

The storyline was good but not enough was done with it. I felt it was more a 1st draft rather than a complete book. The characters were good, I wanted to know about them.

I truly liked the story but it just didn’t have enough substance for me to want to spend the money/credit on.
.
The narrator did a good job.

The small story after the end was a put off as it not about the characters in the book.

A lovable cast of characters and a great storyline combine to make this a brilliant listen. The characters are well defined and quirky and different. From the lovable 10 year old boy cleptomainiac to the old rogue Wilcox with his terrible jokes you cannot help liking them all. The storyline is well paced and interesting throughout and keeps you guessing to the very end. Annalee Scott does a great job of the narration bringing each character to life. I look forward to listening to more of Leah Orr's work and certainly hope to hear more of this narrator.
I was kindly given a promo copy of this book and voluntarily leave this honest review.
