Summary

Welcome to Luxiria, where the twin suns are hot and the alien warriors are hotter....

Kate Harper finally had everything going on back on Earth: her dream job, a kickass best friend, and an apartment completely void of her cheating ex. That is, until she wakes up, cuffed and naked, on an alien planet/fight club known as the Pit. Worse? Aliens fight to the death to be able to claim their prize: human pleasure mates. Even worse? She realizes she’s one of them.

Vaxa’an, the prime leader of Luxiria, has a duty to his warrior species: continue their race. Infamously ruthless and deadly, the Luxirian knows he’ll have no trouble claiming a Breeder at the Pit. What he doesn’t expect to find is his fated mate, with her lush curves and tempting body. And he will stop at nothing to claim her.

When Kate becomes the warrior alpha’s prize, her only goal is getting back to the life she was taken from. Certainly not to fall for the sexy, overbearing barbarian with a wicked tongue, who is determined to make her his own....

Features a curvy, stubborn human female, and a seven-foot tall hot alien with a dirty mouth and an impossibly large (-ahem-) package that does deliciously interesting things. Full-length 55,000 plus word sci-fi romance novel!

Really good alien romance

If you like a steamy alien romance, you won't be disappointed with this. Story: Despite being a similiar storyline to many other alien romances out there (human woman taken by hot alien against her will) this brought a new and fresh take. I loved the Vax's negotiations with Kate to get what he wanted from her rather than her just blindly going along with his plan. The story unfolded naturally with enough plot twists to hold my interest to the end. Characters: Kate was no weak heroine and kept fighting both for her freedom and later for what she believed in. Vax was an very determined alpha male but definitely on the sweeter side. For me this book was only missing a strong B story with some secondary characters we could really feel for to add an additional layer of interest. Setting: the world building was solid without being the most innovative. Romance: Watching Kate's feelings grow for Vax in a slow burn was convincing and made their relationship more believable. Overall, the romance was both hot and sweet and had me really rooting for them by the end. Steaminess: highly steamy. Over 18s only. Narration: good clear reading, no complaints without being the best in the field.

PLEASE RECORD THE REST OF THE SERIES!💕

Ms. Draven’s books are so much fun. The adventure is real, the love heartfelt, the sex silicon-glove necessary. The world building describing Luxiria is fantastic. I could see it so clearly. I really like Kate and could identify with her fright and horror at being kidnapped and surrounded by aliens. Who wouldn’t be? Realistically, it takes her a long time to fall in love with Vax and choose to stay. I can’t say more or I’ll give away spoilers. I listened to the whole thing in two days. It’s worth a credit. If you really don’t like it, Audible allows returns. But you’ll love it and want to hear the rest of the series. PS/ And the narrators are good!

Surprisingly really good!

I have been looking for a new series to binge but I had never heard of this author. I was a little leery but thought why not......this is one I can listen to more than once and still be entertained. Kate is feisty, stubborn and intelligent enough to think things through all in a way that feels natural. I despise weak whiney female leads. While there are moments it’s pretty obvious she’s the weakest physically, she doesn’t take anything laying down. The male lead is dominant without being a jerk about it or borderline abusive. He’s understanding and patient without giving in or giving up. He sticks to the morales of his culture and gives her some breathing room to come to grip with things. The progression of the relationship felt more natural......it was a lot more comfortable than some alien abductions where man sees woman and in the next sentence they are in love and going at it. I hope there are going to be more books in this series. Otherwise I’ll have to find the print version.

Great Story

This book was so good and kept my attention. I finished it in two sittings. Vaxa was fighting in the pit to win a human pleasure mate. He sees Kate and his “instinct” tells him she is his fated mate. He wins the fight to the death and takes Kate with him to his ship where they will go to his home planet. I loved Kate and Vaxa together. Kate was a stubborn human and Vaxa was so patient. This book was a great set up for future books in the series which I hope come to Audible soon. I would highly recommend this book. The narrators were also very good.

HOT Romantic Read

This book was fairly well written and had some very graphic scenes. If you don’t like reading about sex then don’t get the book. The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars is the ending. While I liked it in one aspect it did have a bit of a cliffhanger. Though I enjoyed listening to the book immensely.

I like it.

I hate the fact that the whole series is out in book form but not recorded. This is also the reason that I don't buy book series unless they are all out because I want to continue to the next. Now I have to wait until the series is recorded and I may forget it and find something new.

Do all abducted women lose their minds?

No original story here. Stupid heroine who is trying to look smart has sex at first chance with the alien who won her as a prize. Oh and he is a king and rich and handsome and bluh bluh bluh. Oh and they get pregnant at the end. There, now you don't have to put yourself through 5 hours and 41 minutes you can't get back. Narration was good enough.

Short sweet introduction to this sexy alien romance!

This was a short sweet read that is more of an introduction with some world building than a full bodied work. I enjoyed the beginning and how Kate/Kat fought Vaxa and to return home to earth in spite of her biological urges to mate the handsome hunk. However once we got to Vaxa’s planet everything seemed rushed. In only a very short chapter we were told (not shown) what the conflict in the next book would be. The book was missing well developed side characters and friendships. We were missing quirks of the heroine (nothing more than foster care, cheating ex and publishing job - these could have been interesting but they weren’t fleshed out and I didn’t get the impression that her history affected her much) and a bit more depth to the hero. I suspect this was one of this authors first books because her Horde king series does a wonderful job creating plot outside the romance, side characters and relationships, etc. I also feel like the third person was a poor choice but perhaps that was because I also listened to the book and the duel narration made it feel like it should have been alternating first person instead. The switching third person POV was confusing to read (less so to listen) when half the time it used the name Kat and the rest of the time Kate. Just something to note, I’m still really interested in this world and it ticks off all my happy places: alpha hot alien, tough full bodied heroine, extreme monogamy, alien race that worships their females, super-sperm insta-pregnancy (well sorta)! Check check!
