Summary

The gorgeous engagement ring on my finger mimics my happiness.

I feel so sparkly, glittery, and full of promise, because I absolutely know he's that boy.

The boy I want to marry. My prince. My happily ever after.

But then our pastor starts asking lots of questions.

His parents say I haven't dealt with my past.

I have horrible wedding disaster dreams.

I can't find the perfect dress.

I have to manipulate him to get my way.

An old boyfriend asks me to run away with him.

My best friend says I'm going to ruin everything.

And forever starts to sound like a really long time.

Which totally freaks me out and makes me question everything I know.

Should best friends get married?

Will my past affect our relationship?

Are my horrible dreams a warning?

Will I ever find a dress?

Could his sexiness be clouding my judgment?

Am I going to ruin everything?

Or is it just a case of cold feet?

And then I have to decide. Am I willing to give up on true love forever, or am I going to listen to my heart and marry him?

I found JJ to be very self-centered

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one mostly annoyed me. I know it was a fictional romance, but I found JJ to be so self-centered, which next to Philip's sweet understanding, was all the more apparent. There were some good messages from the pastor who provided marriage counseling to the couple, but he was mostly characterized as naive and unreasonable. The groom's parents and other adult friends provided much-needed wisdom and structure that was eventually received. It makes me sad to realize how many real-life relationships begin this way and how few last as a result. I probably won't read any more books in this series.

I can't get enough!

If you could sum up That Wedding in three words, what would they be?

Freaking Genius! Okay that's only 2 words and that would be Jillian Dodd I'm referring to. That Wedding is just a terrific follow up to That Boy. Sometimes I feel like a second book in a trilogy is just the filling between the first and the last - the book that has to be. Not this one. It was delightfully funny, sexy, thought provoking and sad. The perfect combination.

What was one of the most memorable moments of That Wedding?

When Jayden goes to visit her parents graves was beautifully written.

Have you listened to any of Lisa Cordileone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Lisa Cordileone is great. I hope she narrates many more books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, absolutely! I am sure I will listen to it many times.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to That Baby that is supposed to come out this year and delving into other books by Jillian Dodd!

Funny

So at first I was thrown off by the first person writing but this character was funny. Even funnier in the second book. I found myself laughing out loud many times and my kids would look at me weird. Sweet and funny book.
