About this listen
After an annoying, albeit sexy, encounter with Milo Lombardi, he’s the last person I want to see in Windy Harbor, Minnesota. Being in my favorite small town near Lake Superior with my family is my idea of heaven, and after clashing with Milo at an art event, and then kissing his face off right after – I’d be fine if I never saw the man again.
Even though he is sinfully gorgeous, and knows how to use those unforgettable lips.
But my dad has other ideas, and because he’s been dealt a blow that threatens to turn our family’s world upside down, I want to do what's best and keep the peace.
Which means, I’m stuck working on a project with Milo, all day, every day.
And if I thought we didn’t get along in the beginning, it’s nothing compared to dealing with him on a daily basis. He has a unique way of bringing out the worst in me, while showcasing his annoying smirk in the process.
If only I could forget how his mouth felt on mine, and the way his strong arms felt wrapped around me.
Take this Heart is book one in the brand new, interconnected standalone Windy Harbor series.

The romance between Goldie & Milo was slow burning, filled with fun banter and extreme tension. I felt their relationship evolved naturally and realistically. I do wish we'd had more enemies to lovers as this is the major trope of the story. I felt it was quite tame to what I usually enjoy from enemies to lovers. I love when the stakes are high and the tension keeps building even higher. The author still brought a lot of heart, humor and emotion to the story which made me love it in a whole other way.
Overall, this was a good start to this series. I am excited to come back to Windy Harbor and revisit this family. This was a beautiful story. The setting and characters truly warmed my heart.
🎧 The narration by Andi Arndt & Christian Fox was good. I love Andi. I think she's always phenomenal, bringing the characters she plays to life and the story as well. At the beginning I wasn't sure about the male narrator, I didn't feel the connection between him and the character so it did take me a bit to truly immerse myself. Eventually, he grew on me and I ended up really enjoying the dual narration.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful audio listen, Willow Aster cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Andi Arndt and Christian Fox did a fabulous job voicing the characters, sounding believable and like I imagined they would sound. Both were naturals in their roles, with Arndt nailing it as Goldie and Fox as Milo, embodying their character’s personalities completely, from her sassy wit to his smart and knowing demeanor, playing off and into each other. They were just as fabulous at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Their pacing and tone were ideal for the story, and they conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance, making you feel each one. These two are versatile voice artists, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

I LOVE WINDY HARBOR !!... I am so excited for the rest of this series, its going to be Amazing.
There is so much going on in this book and a few surprises too.
Goldie Whitman is an interior designer and an artist, she also has a twin Tully and has to move back to the place she grew up because her Dad is sick.
Milo Lombardi is an Architect who has an uncle that is a piece of work..
Goldie and Milo's first meeting isn't a good one, they are at an Art Gallery and well Goldie insults his sculpture and his ideas...Despite that they do share a passionate kiss and then walk away from one another after an argument.
Thank heavens they never have to see one another again....Until Milo shows up at her Dad's house.
The reason he is there is because Goldies dad wants to hire him for a project, but this also means that Milo would have to work with Goldie.
Milo irritates Goldie..these two clash so many times and disagree on everything, but slowly but surely Goldie starts to lower her guard.
There is NO denying their chemistry and when they do cross the line it is explosive !!
They cannot get enough of one another..But yes there is a BUT...Because Milo's Uncle Hates the Whitman family and does everything to sabotage the project and Goldie and Milo...and there is another curveball too that I didn't expect.
I LOVE the Whitman family they are such a close knit family and love one another openly and unapologetically..You can see they would do anything for one another,I loved the banter between them and the text threads between them all.
This was an emotional book for me and in certain scenes I was brought to tears at the solidarity and support the family gave to Goldies Dad.
I liked Goldie she was creative and kind, but hot headed too she had been hurt before and so had trust issues..Which made it hard for her to trust Milo, especially because their families had a feud and she wasn't sure about his loyalty to her family.
Milo is swoon he is honest and chooses Goldie and her family over his own family..he doesn't hide his attraction to Goldie, and he is super HOT.!!
Take This Heart is a much deeper story than I was expecting and it never failed to keep me entertained and listening for hours.
The Narration was Excellent performed by Christian Fox and Andi Ardnt they were just a perfect duo to act out this story.I completely and utterly enjoyed listening to them both bring Goldie and Milo to life it was Fabulous.
Willow Aster's writing is wonderful and I am loving her vision for this new series of books, I cannot wait for the other Whitman siblings to get their stories.
A Magnificent Audiobook.

Christian Fox and Andi Arndt could not have been better picks for this listen. Fox has a multitude of men to voice and he finds the perfect sound for each. Young, old, passion or furious, he is perfection. Arndt has a bit of angst to bring in this one, from Goldie as she figures things out and Ava who is a surprise! Lots of feels and fun in this one all in a fabulous narration.
This took my heart!
