About this listen

A Sexy, Small town, Enemies to Lovers, Brother’s Best Friend romance from USA Today Bestselling Author Willow Aster

Camden Whitman has always been in my life. I met him when I was five and he was seven, but when he and my brother became best friends, I became nothing more than the pesky little sister he didn’t want around.

There was a period of time when I thought I felt a connection between us, but he shut that down faster than I could blink. Fast forward to adulthood years later, and here I am, still the annoying little sister he can’t stand.

Now there’s one difference: I want nothing to do with him.

I’m happy running The Kitty-Corner Cafe in my small town of Windy Harbor, Minnesota, and love living in my little slice of paradise on Lake Superior…until Camden decides to move here and open up a new restaurant.

Who cares if he’s a well-known chef who can prepare the most delectable food? He will never hear that from me. He’s wrecked my small-town, stress-free bubble and filled it with his abrasive comments and intrusive looks.

But then the unexpected happens. One night, when both of our walls are down, I see a glimpse of something other than distaste in his eyes. And it has me wondering if I’ve misjudged the man that has always gotten under my skin.

When those boundaries are crossed, there’s no turning back. Camden is on a mission and will do whatever it takes to make me his…

What it Takes is book two in the interconnected, standalone Windy Harbor series.

I Loved both Camden and Juliana so much! These two have been pining for one another for years! They were truly perfect for each other! They had so much tension and banter! I also really enjoyed the flashbacks to their childhood to see how their relationship unfolded throughout the years! It was woven into the story so perfectly!

What it Takes is performed in duet narration by the amazing Sabastion York & Rose Dioro! They were perfect at bring Camden and Juliana to life!

Perfect!

If you are after feisty banter, family shenanigans, and 'it was always you' energy, then you do not want to miss this - it was exquisite.

Sebastian and Rose did a fabulous job of bringing Camden and Juju's story to life.
The range of emotions I experienced while listening to them narrate this story was vast and unrelenting.
Whether I was giggling from family shenanigans, gasping at Camden’s filthy mouth, or smiling because I love this entire town and its sense of community, there was never a dull moment

From throwing barbs to shedding their clothes, these two had a bumpy road to reach their current destination.
I loved how their back story was interspersed between their current goings-on. It was the perfect way to get the full picture of their connection and highlighted the longing that they both felt.

The chemistry between them was explosive, and once they let their guard down, it was as if they were as natural as breathing.
I am very much looking forward to seeing them again later in the series.

I can't wait to find out why Dylan has been sneaking around!

So excited to be back at Windy Harbor and this story is the perfect mix of enemies to lovers and childhood crush! From the time Juju and Camden met at the ages of five and seven, these two were destined for greatness. Both loving to be in the kitchen. But something life happens, and the two are angry and no longer talking. But when Camden comes back to Windy Harbor to open a restaurant near Juju's cafe, they are destined to be crossing paths. And the banter begins. Each has their own specialty, and their animosity towards each other just keeps growing. That is until it doesn't. Great chemistry, the brother's best friend, the pact not to get involved with her, the cooking and baking and I was totally sold for the entire time. Willow Aster is a favorite, always catching my attention and winning my heart. There is something special about this one and it was complete entertainment for me.

Rose Dioro and Sebastian York bring this one to life. From childhood to adult, their voices were spot on with just the right amount of emotion. Dioro as Juju holds the anger for a long time and she slowly lets her guard down using her inflections to make it real. York is Camden, and he keeps things moving as he realizes his true feelings pretty quickly. I loved this one, and their narration enhanced the story.

What It Takes is a second chance, childhood friends to enemies to lovers, secret first love, best friend’s sister, forbidden, small town romance which had so much charm, emotion, chemistry, and depth. I'm not a fan of dual timelines, but I absolutely loved the way this book was set up and the way we get Juju and Camden's past to their present relationship. This book had me in all the feels and I loved every minute of it.

This duet audio was so well done and the narrators, Rose Dioro and Sebastian York, were phenomenal. I felt all of the characters emotions and I could not put this audiobook down.
