About this listen
A sexy, rock star, marriage of convenience romance by New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg.
Jase Gizmodo is the wild card of the world-famous band BENT. He drums like a legend, lives like a rebel, and attracts headlines like a magnet. But when his recklessness causes a no-nonsense judge to threaten the band's upcoming international tour, he needs a quick fix—and proof that he’s settling down might just do the trick.
Enter Hendrix Wright. Cookie queen. Small business owner. And barely hanging on. Her dream bakery is on the brink of closing its doors thanks to her ex’s betrayal, and she needs a miracle. Who knew a chance meeting with a charming, enigmatic, and incredibly sexy stranger in a coffee shop would change all that?
So when that stranger, Jase, offers her a deal—a temporary marriage for the cameras in exchange for the money to save her bakery—Hendrix should run. Fast. But instead, she finds that the more time they spend faking wedded bliss, the more real their chemistry feels.
Because falling for a rockstar was never part of the plan.
But surrendering? That might be the sweetest risk of all.

Jase and Hendrix’s chemistry is electric. From the moment they collide, their story crackles with tension, raw emotion, and fiery banter. The marriage-of-convenience setup adds a layer of irresistible forced proximity, and watching them slowly fall, through the push and pull, through pain and healing, was honestly magic.
Their story is heartfelt, witty, and deeply emotional. Jase’s internal battles and Hendrix’s resilience give their romance so much depth. And the exploration of guilt, trauma, and mental health is handled with such care that it elevates the story in all the best ways.
The cast of side characters is just as unforgettable: charming, protective, and full of personality. Every single one brings something vibrant to the story.
The narration by Ryan Lee Dunlap and Amy Hall really made the story shine, especially Jase’s rockstar charm and emotional vulnerability.
I cannot wait to be back with the BENT crew in the next instalment of this series!
Everything I adore about a rockstar romance!

Jase and Hendrix really had an emotional rollercoaster of a relationship, but boy did they fit so perfectly together!!
They’ve both been hurt in the past. I loved the way that Jase was able to see Hendrix for who she was, and gave her that unconditional respect and support, helping to restore the confidence that her ex broke down, and how Hendrix in return also motivated Jase, seeing the frightened little boy he so carefully tried to conceal, aiding him in carrying that weight
Amy and Ryan’s narration was incredible! They had me hooked right from chapter one, and did a brilliant job bringing the spice, tension and wild banter between Jase and Hendrix to life!! ❤️🔥
Heart Wrenching and Beautiful!! <3

Book 2 in The backstage pass series where we are following the romance stories of the Band BENT.
This is The Drummer Jase "Gizmo" Gizmodo's compelling story, and his love interest is Hendrix Wright a bakery shop owner and cookie queen..Unfortunately the buisness is in trouble,as she trusted someone she thought loved her to help with getting the shop started..Now she is in debt after he took all her money.
But after meeting Jase in a coffee shop, she may have saved her shop.
Hendrix is not the only one in trouble Jase is also in trouble,he continuously keeps breaking rules and after the latest incident the judge will not be so lenient.
Now the bands tour is in jeopardy as the judge will not allow Jase to travel, unless he cleans up his act.The only way to appease the judge would be to appear like he was settling down,so he has to get married.
Meeting Hendrix in a coffee shop will solve his solution of finding a bride, she was wholesome "Normal" and ordinary she would be perfect.
So in exchange for saving her buisness from financial ruin Hendrix agrees to marry Jase for 4 months, then they will divorce once the judge makes his decision whether he can travel.
I honestly loved Jase and Hendrix they get along so well and I loved listening to how they get to know eachother more..It was kind of swoony.
The change in Jase is obvious,Hendrix calms his wild ways and Jase helps Hendrix be more adventurous.
I fell in Love with Jase as he helps Hendrix start to believe in herself more, making her feel sexy and more self assured..Erasing all the emotional damage that her Ex Paul had told her.
They are attracted to one another and the sexual tension between them is palpable, crossing the line is inevitable..When they do begin to get intimate they are a perfect combination of passion, romance and steam.
But Jase has a habit of sabotaging anything good in his life,he has issues from his childhood that threaten to ruin everything between them.Plus the media attention and the lack of privacy is something Hendrix is finding hard to cope with.
The narrators who told this story are INCREDIBLE.!!..Amy Hall and Ryan Lee Dunlap are just the ideal choice for portraying the characters in this story.
They both made this rockstar story so much better with their emotional, funny and expressive storytelling..I loved listening to them.

🎧📚🎧K. Bromberg cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Ryan Lee Dunlap and Amy Hall are versatile voice artists and I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Dunlap rocked it as Gizmo, showcasing every aspect of his personality and demeanor, from his angsty rockstar persona to his caring side, and all in between, including his battles with his inner demons and his vulnerabilities. Hall was a natural in Hendrix’s role, also grasping every aspect of her personality, including her fierceness and determination, always staying true to herself, despite her hardships. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. Their pacing and tone were just right for the story and they captured all the characters’ emotions, having you feel them all. These two made a fantastic team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and an entertaining performance that keeps you riveted to the story.
