About this listen

A sexy single dad, nanny, forbidden romance from New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg.

The rock star never planned on fatherhood. The nanny never planned on staying. But sometimes the biggest surprises come wrapped in pink bows and second chances.

Gavin “Rocket” Caldwell, member of the world’s biggest rock band, lives fast—sold-out tours, wild nights, and zero responsibilities. Until a three-year old daughter he never knew about lands on his doorstep, and suddenly, the party’s over.

Willow Adams is hired to help him adjust to being a dad—a steady, grounded nanny with a soft heart and a quiet strength he can’t ignore. She’s nothing like the women he’s used to. And maybe that’s exactly why he can’t stay away.

What starts as a temporary arrangement turns into something deeper, just as a custody battle threatens to take it all away. Rocket never wanted to be a father. But now? He’ll fight like hell—for the adorable little girl who changed everything, and the unexpected woman he never saw coming.

What a wonderful story !!
I Love Rockstar romances and this one set my heart all fluttering..
Book 3 in the Backstage pass series by K.Bromberg and keyboardist Gavin "Rocket" Caldwell's story.
Rocket is the ultimate Rockstar making headlines with his behaviour and living the best wild life, but that is all about to change.
Discovering he has a daughter the result of a past fling...But she had passed away and wanted Rocket to have custody of their daughter 3 year old Poppy.
He becomes a father overnight and he is not ready..Luckily Poppy arrives with a Nanny.
Willow is appointed to help Poppy to adjust with her new life and the new person in her life, but she also helps Rocket become the man and father he needs to be for Poppy.
Poppy is not speaking due to trauma of losing her mum and it is actually heartbreaking I felt for Poppy she is so adorable.
The first meeting of the 3 of them doesn't go well,as Rocket runs from it,he is freaking out and in denial.
He is struggling being a Dad because of his past and the way he grew up and keeps avoiding Poppy,he believes he will be a terrible father..
But he didn't expect Willow to prove him wrong.
Willow is so incredibly patient with Rocket and coaxes him to interact with Willow and making him face his fears.
Once Rocket accepts the reality of the situation he is an adorable girl Dad and finds out he can love and be loved.
Willow is the heart of this little family they are creating and as time goes by and she gets deeper into Rockets life, she falls for him hugely.
Rocket and Willow are very attracted to one another and a few close encounters of flirting leads to them being intimate...and the passion is explosive !!
But then just when everything seemed to be going well..a threat to their happiness makes itself known..and Poppy could be taken away.
It makes Rocket realise that Poppy is his salvation and he needs to fight to keep her with him..But he also could lose Willow when their romance becomes public and Willow is painted in a bad light.
Will Rocket be able to save himself and the family he never knew he needed.?
I have to admit that this book made me feel emotional Poppy was just so cute and when she first spoke I was a puddle of goo.
The Narration by Shiloh James and Oliver Highpoint is Fabulous they both did an amzing job performing these characters..Showing all the emotions that were neccesary for that scene.
Oliver is a new narrator to me and I was impressed by his acting and enjoyed his voice..I have heard Shiloh's narration before and she is always so skilled and expressive.
They are both superb voice actors.
Rocket's life changes for the better and Rocket himself does change so much he has to grow up and he does thanks to Willow and Poppy.
Willow is basically and angel and so strong because despite what is thrown at her she stays by Rockets side it is him that has his doubts.
K Bromberg's writing is perfect as she takes us into a Rockstars world.
I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, emotional and steamy book.
Brilliant.
5 Stars.

Format: Audiobook - Dual narration by Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James
Standalone: Interconnected Standalone (Backstage Pass, Book 3)
Tropes: Rockstar, Reformed Playboy, Secret Baby w/ Nanny, Forced Proximity

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to in this series and I’m definitely going back for more. This is such a tight group and the dynamic was amazing. I love how Rocket has a realistic reaction to discovering he has a secret child. Willow coming in with Poppy as her priority was great and creating a wonderfully angsty forced proximity situation. Love the slow burn and the drama that really amped up this storyline.

This audio was phenomenal. Both narrators really acted this out with passion and amped up the emotions of the story. Oliver Highpoint really showed his chops at the scenes when the band was all together. And Shiloh James has the most beautiful voice. This was an easy in-passable listen!

There is something about a single dad that wins my heart. Rocket loves his life. So when his 3 year old daughter is left on his doorstep, he is at a loss. He has no idea what to do with her or how to take care of her. Hiring Willow Adams to be his nanny will help. She is really good with Poppy and knows how to communicate with the traumatically muted child. But he doesn't realize the impact that Willow will have on both of their lives. Willow is getting ready to take her masters, so this temporary job is perfect. She loves Poppy, and the more time she spends with the two of them, she never holds back the deficits that Rocket has. She helps him understand the gift Poppy is and how lucky they both are to have each other. But the more time they spend together, the more the attraction between them grows. K Bromberg is a master at romance, and this one had my heart. I could picture all the scenes in my mind, and had me laughing at the ribbing his bandmates gave him. Adorable, romantic, funny, this book has it all, and I love this addition to the series.

Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James are fantastic together. Highpoint is the confident rockstar and uncertain father. He finds each inflection to make Rocket realistic as he works through his new life. James comes in as the sometimes snarky nanny as she is frustrated with Rocket and the loving nanny and lover. These two compliment each other and made for a fabulous listen.

K. Bromberg never disappoints in anything she writes about, from racers to rock stars, love them all and love her writing too. “Sweet Distraction” is a wonderful addition to her “Backstage Pass” series, and is Gavin “Rocket” Caldwell and Willow Adams’ story, a single dad/nanny romance that should not have happened, but both fell hard, despite it not being an easy road. Rocket’s life gets turned upside down upon discovering he has a three-year-old daughter, Poppy, from an affair, whose mother died in a car crash and who put him down for custody if something happened to her. After all the legalities were done, Poppy and the nanny who was taking care of her, move in with him, initially he did not handle it well. Traumatized by her mother’s death, Poppy needed special care, and Willow Adams, who recently lost her teaching job because of layoffs, was asked to become her nanny, and she agreed. Because of her fragile state and special needs, she would help her with the transition in her new home, but a freaked out Rocket wanted her to stay longer. Willow was great with Poppy, also great with Rocket, understanding he was having a hard time with it, but she was no pushover either. Rocket was out of his element, but he needed to get past his own insecurities before he could warm up to the idea and to Poppy, which Willow recognized. It was a slow process, but things were going in the right direction for Rocket and his daughter, and with Willow, too, she was everything he never knew he needed. But a wrench gets thrown their way when Poppy’s grandparents question his ability to parent. This story was everything, a multi-layered story with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. It was great to see the other members of the band and their significant others again. K. Bromberg, thank you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧Oliver Highpoint and Shiloh James did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with their voices and emotions. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Ms. James nailed it as Willow, grasping all aspects of her personality, and was a natural in the role with her empathy truly shining when with Poppy. Highpoint was just as fabulous in Rocket’s role, showcasing the angsty rockstar’s personality perfectly. Both were amazing at performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Emotional!
