This is the first time that we see Fortune getting involved with police business with Carter’s blessing. Not because he’s banned from taking action, but because this is personal!

And we have a potentially new romance - I’d like to see how that pans out!

Enjoyable as usual - always wonderfully narrated!

This is another laugh out loud mystery, which has had me chuckling all the way through, and in tears at a few points to. How Cassandra Campbell is able to keep going is beyond me how she was able to keep going. Just brilliant.👍

This author continues to entertain and delight her fans with well written and humours mysteries. With this being book twenty-four in the series the characters are well established but if this is your first outting with swamp team then you are In for a treat and it does work well as a standalone. In this book a well loved character has finally reached her goal of owning her own bakery but things don't go to plan and Fortune an ex CIA agent and her elderly but equally capable sidekicks swing into action. I love Ida-Belle and Gertie, they are two of the best fictional characters ever written (in my opinion) and I could listen to there antics all day and quite often do, as this author and series is my go to. The humour, surprises and questions just keep on coming and long my it continue.
Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie are trying out Gerties new hunting cabin. Ida-Belle and Gertie are going to bag a turkey and Fortune to catch up on her reading but a dead body in the water and a phone call staying Fortune's best friend Ally was attacked has them running back to Sinful. Ally new business is now a crime scene and it isn't the only place. The dead body also has a connection to the building, as he was the one who sold it to Ally. Fortune knows that the two things are connected and worried about Ally safety she sets out to find out why her friend and new business might be a target of a killer.
I really enjoy the narrator, she is the voice of Fortune and I hope she continues to be so.
