But it ended up being one of the most poignant and relevant themed book for this time. The characters are compelling and the world building worked seamlessly into the story. I cannot recommend this book enough.
The only minor criticisms is that the first few chapters linger too long in the bar and on the bets, and at times I felt I missed some of the books humour.
