About this listen
Tennessee Veterinarian Dominique Grant has a problem. The man who just walked into her life doesn’t fit her well-planned vision. How many red flags can be waving at once?
He’s geographically undesirable.
He’s never known parenthood.
He’s got a Harley and the swagger that goes with it.
But not all storms come to destroy. Some come to clear a path.
California contractor Colter Ripley is about to discover what lies outside the comfort zone. A beautiful, smart woman has upended the familiar and now he sees a new world where he must choose a life, not settle for one.
For Dominique and Colter there is no room for romances that require so much effort.

Southern Promise by Leslie Pike
Performed in dual narration by Andi Eloise & Sebastian York
I really enjoyed this audio book it was simple, easy to listen too and completely engaging and the narration by Andi Eloise and Sebastian York is absolutely wonderful.
Colter is a contractor who is in Tennessee from California because his sister has been in a near fatal car crash and he has taken over looking after his nephew Hunter, but he has also brought along his dog and this is how he meets Dominique the local town veterinarian.
Dominique is a widow who has spend the last 10years since her husbands death being up her now 13-year old son Bing and has made him her main focus and hasn’t really had a chance to pursue anyone romantically but then there’s Coulter who after a time of getting to know Dominique begins to realise that everything before her has never been anywhere near love.
Their connection is instant and I loved that these two characters are both a bit more mature than you normally get and they way they navigate their story is more mature and concise, they come to realise that they may have wasted to much time already not putting themselves first and work to remedy this, but the bit problem is Coulter is due to go back home and they fight to see if they could do the long-distance relationship thing because both have way to much to give up and move, but after a serious incident things become a lot clearer.
The friendship between Bing and Hunter is also pretty quick to develop with Hunter helping Bing get over a childhood loss of a pet, their banter is so funny and typical of teenage boys and gave me a good laugh.
I really did enjoy this book, it’s quick, funny and heartwarming.
Brilliant
