About this listen

An action packed LitRPG adventure perfect for fans of Solo Leveling, The Primal Hunter, and 1% Lifesteal!

Alone. Surrounded by monsters. Time to fight his way up the food chain.

In the aftermath of an unprecedented magical disaster, Edge wakes up in a monster-infested wilderness, standing on the bottom of the food chain. But he won’t be there for long.

After finding a unique core known as Skill-Eater, Edge gains the power to steal the skills of monsters, men, and beasts, and a chance to battle his way up to the top.

It seems that his luck has finally changed, although he will soon learn that power never comes without a price.

Experience an action packed LitRPG adventure set in a world where artifacts known as Cores let their bearers wield the planet’s magic, and where Skills grant superhuman abilities and kaiju roam the wilds. It's perfect for fans of Solo Leveling, The Primal Hunter, and 1% Lifesteal!

Author has flexed many of the classic elements of the genre, with an interesting and varied levelling system. Overall, it is an easy listen with clear and steady character progression.

It would be good if there was some more purposeful grinding and power leveling. However, the mc desire to be part of a team is a nice deviation from the solo leveling style that can dominat the genre.

This is a good story and definitely a series to give a chance.
One thing that didnt appeal to me, and this is subjective, is that there was too much introspection and thinking by the mc. I generally like books were the mc thinks and reflects, but here it sometimes feels like an excuse for the author to teach the listener about the world and this takes some momentum from the story. Another thing is that almost every fight, at least in the first half of the book, last very long. To me, that feels a little exhausting.

The book has some interesting and unique traits that differ it from similar books in the genre. I see a lot of potential when the characters develop and start to really finalize their builds.

Amazing performance by paul, he really makes the characters come alive.

Perfect book for listeners that love a long book with good fights and a thinking smart mc

Lots of ideas that could be interesting, but none of them get anywhere close to there, this isnt generic. But it doesn't do anything at all well either.

Incredibly bland
