About this listen

In early spring, amateur detective Geneva Pomolo receives a wedding invitation from a friend she hasn’t thought about in 10 years. Gladys Button has already been married six times—five of those marriages ended in divorce or annulment and the sixth ended in death. Now she’s getting married again, and she wants Geneva to be there.

Baffled by the invitation, Geneva accepts. But when she and her detective partner Iris Reeves drive up to Fort Wayne to meet Gladys, they learn all is not as it seems. Gladys wants Geneva to investigate a murder—her own. She’s become convinced that someone—possibly one of the wedding guests—is trying to kill her. Geneva brushes away the notion, but Gladys’ worst fears are vindicated when she’s poisoned just hours before the ceremony.

With no shortage of suspects, Geneva and Iris must bring all their training to bear on the most challenging puzzle of their careers. Each of Gladys’ living ex-husbands was present in Fort Wayne at the time of the murder, and each one has ample incentive for wanting to kill her....

I fun short listen. An invitation to the wedding of an old colleague leads to tragedy. The characters are good, especially the male suspects who are all very odd. The story is excellent. Rachael Reading does an excellent job with the narration. I received a complimentary copy and am leaving a honest voluntary review

When Geneva and Iris are invited to an old freind they haven't been intuch with for years wedding. They think it strange but go. When the bride dies on her wedding day there is no shortage of suspects. With six ex husbands, five of whom are still alive and invited to the wedding. It's time for the ladies to get to work.
This is a great story and the narration is excellent.
