Summary

Mac knows Rogue is his from the moment she holds him hostage, but she'll never let him claim her....

If Mac ran the world, everything would be better. Everyone would say what they felt, mean what they said, and never, ever get offended. At least that's what he thought his own personal utopia would look like, until he met Rogue.

Rogue's life was just fine, thank you very much. An expert in her chosen field of danger and lies, she was well on her way to retiring by 30, as long as she could keep her curious mental slide under control. Until that hot-as-sin cop showed up, turning her life upside down, bringing her everything she'd always - and never wanted.

PRETTY INTENSE & HOT

Here we meet good intention cat burglar g Angel) Rogue, ego nicks people who have committed crime & even send the evidence to the police.
And Wolf Shifter Mac, who knew he was going to meet her at this club, but they met not in quite the way Mac expected.
Here we see how dominate/determined Rogue is about her abilities but nut when it's to be with keeping her feelings at bay.
Mac tracks her, losses her, tracks her again & again.
So we see what happens with the way these two are before they meet properly. Then they realise that they've meet before & not JUST once. So we see & hear how things go with these 2 & things GET'S HOT

I was very disappointed

I have read all of the 1 true mate books up untill Mac story. I was very let down by this story line. I got very tried if Rouge running from Mac the story line to me was a little much and dragged on I would of liked to of seen more postive interactions with Mac and Rogue. I sure hope the next book is better.

Two Strong Personalities

Rogue is strong minded, independent and plans to be free forever. Mac is blunt and doesn't feel he needs to change for anyone, that is until he meets Rogue, he needs to be more for her. Another intense story that has great descriptions, mystery and steamy intense attraction between mates. I have loved listening to this book along with reading. Narrator is really good.

Rogue you are on thin ice!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I have to admit that I love anything and everything that Lisa Ladew writes and anything that Michael Pauley narrates.

What about Michael Pauley’s performance did you like?

There is just something about this man that makes me feel all gooey inside. He is amazing. There is nothing that I have not listened to him where I was like, 'You know, he sounds like trash.' Everything has just been great and I cannot get enough of him. I will listen to all of his works if it is the last thing I do on Audible.

Any additional comments?

I have to admit that Rogue was starting to get on my nerves. I know that Rogue is supposed to complement Mac in every way but it came to a point where I thought Mac would be better off alone. I know Rogue has a lot of issues going on, like being raised to be a theft and all that, however her 'sisters' had it a lot worse. Take for instance Cerise, from Shifter's Innocent, she went through so much but yet never treated Beckett as though he was worthless. I do understand trust does not come easy to Rogue but come on.

I get that being tough is kinky but if she did not do her turn around when she did I would have just stopped. I cannot do the whole victim play all throughout a book.

I did enjoy this book though. I cannot wait until Bruin gets his book. He is just such a great character and I need to know more about him and what the great secret is.

Have the tissues of the ready!

I didn't know if I was gonna like this one. Mainly, because in the beginning Mac was such a Dick head but now I understand that a lot of it is because the loss of his mother and sister not to mention his time in the war camps. That being said, it's very entertaining watching Mac deal with being on the other side for once. Although I do have to say that towards the end I was screaming at rogue LOL and I felt so very sorry for Mac.

What next!

If you could sum up Shifter's Rogue in three words, what would they be?

More, hanging, different

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Bear was my favorite. He always seemed to be very clam when the crap hit the fan.

What about Michael Pauley’s performance did you like?

He didnt sound so much like a computer.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Sometimes I laughed.

Any additional comments?

The series needs a little change in it. I liked it when there wasn't so much cussing although I understand the need for it with these two main characters. I would like to see the "Sisters" do more with each other and also see where they are going to take the bear shifter. Will that be a new series or continue on with this one

Another great addition to the series

Rouge is not your typical leading lady. She's a bad-ass criminal, stubborn as hell and has zero interest in being mated, having babies or being saved my a man. There is no love at first sniff here. I liked that Ladew manages to make the novels different even though the basics remain the same. I am already in love with Bruin and he made me laugh out loud more than once (crazy lady shopping at Target aisle 4!).

Surprisingly a new favorite

I hated Mac in the other books. He was such an obnoxious jerk throughout the series but in this one we see his softer side. Four previous One True Mates had been found. The rest of the Pack, including Mac, was clamouring to find their mates. He begins to change after seeing how happy the other mated males were. He also begins the search for his mate. When he finds Rogue, she's a bit more allusive and wild than expected. While the other mates were a bit innocent and soft; Rogue was a criminal, self sufficient, very sexually active, and she immediately rejected the idea of being paired up with someone. She was more of a troublemaker than Mac was. He went from raising hell, to taking Rogue's hell. Admittedly, I didn't really like her but I knew that she mad Mac happy. Like the previous works, there's a but more mysticism added to the series as a whole. Some loose ends were tied and other characters were revisited. There also a bear vs mutated fox shorten fight at the end. It definitely a series I enjoy and will continue to follow.

Addicted to books

I loved the first four books but I had a hard time getting thru this book. It may not bother other readers but I got real tired of every other word being the F word. I don't believe it helped the story. In fact it made it harder for me to get into the characters.
