Summary

Harlan Mundelein, the Knotted Wolf, the soldier at heart who used to be the guy who got things done, is fading.

It's been a long and pointless battle, and he can finally see the day coming that he'll be eternally reunited with his Eventine. He's ready and his mind is made up: he is not getting a One True Mate.

His mate is gone. So why does Leilani, a female who has mysteriously appeared to him twice in his lifetime, stir his blood in a way that makes no sense at all...especially when he knows she is not his mate?

Loved it!

I have read this & it was just had good to listen too, it goes back it time & end up in the present. Wonderful to be able to hear somebody else to tell the story. I loved it the first time around & didn't find it hard at all. If you wanted to know how they lost their females the five this book ago!!!

Don’t give up on this book try it twice

Yes it’s hard to follow but I went back a book and re listened from about chapter 20 to the end and then began this one again and it fit so much better. Heck it was the next day and I sure didn’t catch that the first time at the beginning.
It truly didn’t mess up the second time cuz I tell ya I was 20 chapter s in and decided that I had no clue of wtf was going on and reread bruin’s book and the began again and tracked it the whole time. It was really great made you laugh cry hope and wonder. So try it more than once you’ll like it.
Great narration and a good story.

Confusing Story

I was confused with this story. The time travel, future, past or present. I didn't know for a while if it was Harlan/Evie or Harlan/Leilani.

I didn't like Evie at all. I thought she was selfish. All she wanted was Harlan and didn't seem to care what it did to Leilani. I did a lot of skipping chapters in this story. I didn't particularly like Harlan either. I can't put my finger on why but he rubbed me the wrong way.

I understand Ms. Ladew was trying something different with this story but it was not good for me. This is the first story in the series that I feel compelled to leave a bad review. I'm hoping the next story will be better.

Confusing Much?

This story was confusing compared to the others yes, but maybe I am as well. I followed the story quite clearly, except how Leilani ended up in the Roosevelt, maybe book 8 will clear that up for me. Great series.

Disappointed<br />

I was woefully disappointed in this book. Compared to the others this lacked even a semblance of their quality.

Another great story!

It was different but still very good. I didn't have any problems following the story and I did cry for Harlan. Couldn't put it down until the end. Michael did an excellent job of narrating as he did with the other stories.

Harlans Hope

Harlan has no hope, just wants to follow orders and exist until he can join his mate. This book really blew my mind, I loved the concept, the history knowing the back story how Harlan and Evie met and how Harlan lost her. The birth of the dragon, and the surprise with Troy, I really wondered how that was going to work with his OTM. Fantastic book and brings many things together for me.

Blah Blah Blah I am Right 👀

This book did not do it for me. I know a lot of reviewers stated that this book felt disjointed and it is too different then the other books. I however did not feel that way. What made this book not the best was the fact Eventine was selfish the entire time. I understand that this is a love story and the goal is to have the two main characters together but that does not mean one of them should sacrifice an innocent for love.

There were moments where I could not believe how Eventine treated Leilani. At first you would think that Eventine is trying to protect Leilani from everything but then you delve deeper and you see that she is only concerned about getting back to HER life and to Harlan. It took her until Chapter 38 in order for her to realize that she is not the one in charge. Her life is over and she needs to let Leilani live. I am not looking forward to reading about Eventine again but I do know that she is going to play a role in Night of the Beast.

I really hope that Eventine plays a little part in the next book and all of the books after. I do not think I can handle her high handedness and her just be abrupt with everyone. I have a feeling that she is going to feel special that she is the only wolfen female alive.
