About this listen

Siv and the others may have escaped Ekaran IV on the Outworld Ranger, but now they’re on the run with two governments, several criminal organizations, and a host of bounty hunters in pursuit.

If they want to protect Oona, the young hyperphasic messiah, they need allies, resources, and information. The girl’s father, Ambassador Vim, could provide those things. The problem: he’s missing.

He was last seen on a planet named Titus II. And all the groups hunting them know it. Going after him means walking into multiple ambushes. The risk may not be worth the reward. Especially once they realize the most feared bounty hunter in the universe, Vega Kaleeb, is after them.

And Kaleeb is even more dangerous than they realize. His ultimate goal is far more sinister than that of the governments and criminal organizations paying him to capture the hyperphasic messiah.

this was an unexpected pleasure to enjoy. I feel myself falling in love with this universe after a very rapid start to the books serious I'm now going to go back to read the prequel book that's now available I hopefully will be reading all of them again and then my next credit comes in start reading the next books in the series and I will probably be coming back to give better reviews now I wish I had a chippy instead of a Google

The series gets better and better. PK’s performance makes all the difference and the characters are really starting to grow on me. There is no doubt I’ll be carrying on with the series! It’s taken two books to get me properly involved and I look forward to more intriguing stories and more dry wit from the AIs - I really like how they’re all at different levels and sort of jealous and a bit afraid of the other’s powers or weapons. Of course the Peter Lorre (from Maltese Falcon) voice of the ‘bad’ chippy is my absolute favourite- it relishes slicing any opponent up and they’re vaguely reminiscent of Culture drones- but for me that and PK are the only slight similarities to the masterpiece of Iain M Banks - he would deliver a new novel every Christmas Eve and alternate between Lit Fiction and the sublime SF. I do miss his work and wonder how many amazing works he took with him. Anyway I’m enjoying this series but so close to Christmas I can’t help jonesing for a new Culture novel.

I really enjoyed this whole series. I'm a big fan of Peter Kenny so thought I would give this series a try as I've loved his work with other authors. Well, what a treat! A fantastic series that left me eager to get started on the next instalment. I am hoping there will be another after Fallen Souls as I'm not ready for it to end! This series and its characters are brought to life by the fantastic narration by Peter Kenny. It is obvious by his amazing enthusiasm for the books and its characters that you can tell he just loves what he does. His use of accents makes following individual characters so easy and you can't help but become attached to them as you follow them on their journey. And who couldn't love the cheeky and charismatic Silky. I highly recommend this whole series, especially to those that love a good space opera.

A fantastic series beautifully narrated.
