I never believed in the whole “light at the end of the tunnel” folly where people, after having a near-death experience, would startle awake in a cold sweat exclaiming, “I saw the light!” But there I was, in this so-called “tunnel” facing a glaring light, when the last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room - the royal bed-chamber, as others called it. Summary
Big, blue, and ugly. Who says a troll can’t be the hero?
Chad’s 30-day sentence may be over, but his trolling has just begun. Forsaking his old ways, he fully embraces a future as Chod, the hero of the forest trolls.
But life in Isle of Mythos isn’t easy for the barbarian summoner. Chod has angered more than one felon on his quest to save his people from extinction, and they’ve sworn vengeance. With a target on his back, Chod is about to find out how difficult the world can be for a hero that looks like a monster.

Probably my favourite Lit RPG books!
Thoroughly enjoy listening to these books! All of Steven’s books so far are great, but these are easily my favourite! Really great story and are so easy to listen too! Eric is a great narrator who’s voice is perfectly suited to the Troll books, I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing it! Really hope there’s another on the way soon!? This is my honest opinion of a free review copy.

Series progresses strongly
The first book in this series worked well in it's own right, but didn't really pay much heed to the premise that resulted in the player having to play as a troll in the first place, this book moves things even further away from that premise towards a more traditional scenario where both the main character and his main real-life friend are discovering more of the wider world. Prior to the arrival ingame of his real-life friend, Chod and his group of trolls (and imp) quickly dealt with the underlying issue from the first book i.e. that of the trolls being hated by human npcs, going forwards there are still some problems relating to the previous enmity. Their journey to the human capital and the treaty they establish with the king potentially gives the author a lot of flexibility in the future with subsequent conflicts being due to the actions of Chod and his companions rather than simply being automatic due to him being part of the troll race itself. In general the narrator does a good job, the main cast all have suitably distinctive voices and the supporting cast are also voiced pretty well too, helping to nicely enhance the impression of the book. Overall, this book was an enjoyable one and is stronger than the first one in some ways such as the progression of the main storyline for the series. I am eager to listen to the next one when it becomes available. [Note - I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.]

Strong sequel with enjoyable shift in cast
Sentenced to Troll has progressed in its second book to a stronger plot arc. My attention was held, the characters felt realistic, I liked the new character addition, and as before the narration is excellent. If you enjoyed the first, I think you’ll like this even more. It’s got leveling, dungeons, a bit of intrigue, and progression of the main plot. Little to no real world this time, which is up to personal preference on whether that’s good or bad, but for me it didn’t feel lacking. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was an amazing sequel to this series, another fantastic and humorous story with new characters and definitely some new issues for oue loveable oaf and side kick. The narrator did a great job making the story flow along with the writers...writing ha. and the voices were greatly done. I cant wait to see where the dark places in the next book have to offer, what new skills and companions may be in the future.

Kinda boring
Why all this OMG THIS IS SO AMAZING? Cause it isn't. First: The fights all go the same way, MC thinks he can win, then realized that he can't but because he thinks of something nobody ever thought of (but which is actually really obvious...) he wins. Second: There are some good things about the book but as soon as the MC start to "think" about stuff you just want to sigh. The MC is pathetic, doesn't get any better in the two book, and by the end of the second book you don't care if he fixes his "issues" you just want him to be quite and stop whining.

Another fantastic addition to the series!
The only thing I hated about this book was that it ended. This was absolutely another fantastic read. I love the character progression the skill allocation feels logical instead of feeling like the skills are a crutch to move the story ahead which is nice it makes it more immersive and believable that this could be a real game also enjoy that the author doesn't make the MC super Op I can't wait for then next book in the series.

Exactly what I wanted from a litrpg style book. Action and solid progress, doesn't slog down at any point, vibrant world building, and solid investment in the potential of the characters. Great setup for the next book with a solid ending. Sure i wish it was longer but im looking forward to the next book!

the writer could easily design video games. he has a good understanding of character development, game balancing and mechanics. The story is a lot of fun and a great continuation of the first book. I'm so trying to figure out the "meta$ topic though: the details of world outside the game and why he needs to stay.

The story keeps going strong!
I got a free copy of the writer so first I want to thank Rowland for that! What makes the gift even more impressive is that the second part in this series is at least as good as the first one. The suspense and action force you to keep listening. The narrator also did a good job with this piece. If you like fantasy or litrpg I would advise you to give this series a chance. Now I can only hope the third part will deliver the same decent quality as the first two parts.

As good as it gets
Following up the epic events of the first book, the author chooses to spend much of the time k. A delightful bit of adventuring with Chod’a rl friend joining him as a dwarf. Soon old enemies and new are on their horizon. This is about the best book I’ve read to capture the sheer joy of what being able to adventure would be like. It’s a cliche, but I felt like I was actually there it spoke to me so much It’s full of humor, terrific characterizations, and an expansion of a fascinating world. Buy it!!
