Some 'experts' say don’t eat carbs because insulin makes you fat; others say don’t eat fat because fat makes you fat. Some say don’t eat protein because protein makes you fat, and others even say you shouldn’t eat fruit because sugar makes you fat. So the logical conclusion would be not to eat anything at all...except for the other 'experts' who say that makes you fat because 'starvation mode'. Who should you believe? Who is right? Literally the best hypertrophy book out there
If youre looking to gain muscle BUY THIS BOOK. 99% of Audible books on the subject are complete nonsense wrote by uneducated people looking to make a quick buck. This is not the case with the Authors of this book. Scientific Principles of Hypertrophy Training is wrote by some of the best minds in the science based hypertrophy scene. It covers just about every practical application of what you need to know about how to gain muscle in a safe and efficacious manner. So ditch whatever celebrity garbage, trendy workout of the day, keto, juice cleanse, magic supplement nonsense book you may be considering... and just buy this instead!
If youre looking for the 'secret' to gain muscle, this is it, the 'secret' is called 'science' and this book perfectly interprets that science into a well written, enjoyable and easy to understand book. Not only that, the authors wealth of coaching and training experience is also very clear. This means the information provided isn't just a thought experiment, it is tried and tested methodology.
Thanks so much Mike, James, Melissa and Jared. It was well worth the wait for this masterpiece of a book and I am very glad you decided to take your time with it. It certainly shows in the quality of the end product. Very glad you chose to release it on Audible too!!!

Achieve Physique Training Enlightenment!
RP is one of, if not the best sources for evidence-based training concepts that exists. The volume landmarks, as described, just make sense on a practical level. It seemingly answers some of the questions about why some things that trainees do work, and why some do not. This book not only gives names to some phenomena people experience when training, but also solutions to common sticking points, complete with practical examples about building muscle. Acronyms galore! Dr. James does a fantastic job with narration, sharing his enthusiasm and passion for his work effortlessly. The PDFs included are great and this book combined with YouTube lectures(free btw) can tell you everything you need to know about hypertrophy and then some. If you want to nerd out on some muscle shit you will love it.

Practical Information
This is a great book if you are looking to have a thorough understanding on how muscle is built and gives you practical methods on how to apply this to your own or you clients training programs. I was particularly enthralled by the section on applying hypertrophy training to athletes who want to use it to improve their performance in their sport, as well as the approach that should be taken when coming back from injury. I will be definitely listening to this book again just to take notes.
