Summary

A true woman of faith, Ruth is one of five women in the Bible listed in the ancestry of Jesus. She was loyal, displayed humility, and appreciated her mother-in-law, Naomi.

Ruth, a Moabite, married into a Hebrew family. The father-in-law, brother-in-law, and husband died, leaving Naomi and both daughter-in-laws alone. When Naomi returns to Bethlehem, Ruth returns with her. In a foreign land, Ruth was free of family obligations; she demonstrated loyalty, faith, and obedience to God.
