About this listen

La Lune Noire has a pulse. It rules apart from its owners. Backroom deals and electro swing. Extravagant parties and bootlegger tunnels. The walls have secrets. The doors have codes. Ashes and lies. White oak and screams. Champagne and delusions. Hope is the gateway to hell.

Ryker:

The house always wins. Unless it’s concerning Mercy Phillips. My brothers and I own La Lune Noire, a resort and casino that caters to the criminal underworld. To them, we’re kings. To her, I’m the friend she left behind. Some say absence makes the heart grow fonder. For me, it bred obsession. Three years searching. One offer she can’t refuse. Countless rolls of possibilities. Cognac. Contracts. Coming home. And someone lurking in the shadows, playing us all. But the house will win again. She’s always been mine.

Mercy:

That’s not even my name anymore. Much less who I am.

Other than my precious baby boy, only shards remain of that girl. Scars from a monster. Until Ryker Noire—my best friend and a reminder of the worst night of my life—breezes into town with a tempting proposition. Three years running. One haunting phone call. Countless reasons to stay away. But the choice isn’t mine. What a Noire wants, a Noire gets. No matter the battle, hope is the last thing to die.

This book was so good. It had me up till almost 2am because I just couldn’t stop listening.

Ryker and Mercy have an amazing connection and I was rooting for them from the start. Theirs is such a compelling friends-to-lovers story. They’re raw, passionate and intensely magnetic – two broken people fighting their ghosts together to make each other whole again.

I loved the author’s writing. The setting was reminiscent of 1920s Prohibition with a strong The Great Gatsby vibe. The opulence of their world feels like such a fairytale, with her vivid descriptions creating such an immersive reading experience. She weaves the perfect balance between dark elements, light hearted moments, steamy heat, and the tenderness of their feelings for each other. Their emotions are expressed in a way that feels beautifully poetic, even Ryker’s obsessed inner thoughts.

The suspense subplot was well-paced and kept me engaged throughout, and the ending was deeply satisfying – both in the villains’ downfall and in the way it highlighted Mercy’s intelligence and resilience. I also loved meeting all the Noire siblings. Their easy banter and playful teasing added both humour and heart to the story, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of them in the rest of the series.

The duet narration was immaculate. Brandon Francis and Andi Eloise captured every emotion flawlessly, delivering a truly captivating performance. I loved how Andi Eloise brought out Mercy’s casual, humorous side, while also portraying the dark broken parts of her in such a compelling manner that I was close to tears a few times. The highlight of Brandon Francis’s performance for me was his non-verbal vocalizations, which made the performance feel more real. I also loved how he delivered Ryker’s obsessed inner voice, capturing the dark intensity while still bringing out the poetic quality of the author’s writing.

This book has everything – danger, passion, healing, and a romance that will have you giggling and kicking your feet. If you love an emotional romance with dark themes, plenty of suspense, a fun, supportive cast of siblings and incredible narration, you need to listen to this.

Audiobook Review:
Narrated by Brandon Francis & Andi Eloise. These 2 are new to as is this author. Brandon & Andi were so good giving voice to Ryker & Mercy. The emotions, pain and love was evident in their voices.
Ryker is co owner of La Lune Noire, a resort and casino that caters to the criminal underworld, with his brothers.
He ruthless, cold, passionate and a man on a mission.
Mercy was a strong Phenix, rising after the emotional and physical wreck left by her ex. A single mum to Rhemi and living and hiding as someone else.
It took Ryker 3 years to finally find his heart. He has been in love with her since they became friends. So when she disappeared he had vowed to get her back and keep her as his.
Mercy is equally in love with him but thought they're better off as best friends.
So when Ryker makes her an offer, she struggles to say no. Now she is his fake fiancée, living with him and getting more confused with Rykers behaviour. He is determined to show her how much he loves her without scaring Mercy.
Eventually the miscommunications are cleared and Mercy takes her place as the a Queen she is.
The slow burn was hard and I was on the edge waiting for that pinnacle moment.
But someone from the past has risen and Mercy's life is not safe once more. I liked the suspense side as I couldn't work out the suspect. I was not expecting who the culprit was.
This story was full of Heartbreak, loss, love, spicy, witty banter, found family, suspense, action and touch he and unalive.
I loved how Mercy messes all the idioms and how Ryker loves and laughs at them.
His brothers are all interesting characters and I want to know more. I really loved go they support each other and the love they share amongst them.
I'm so glad I gave this author a go because she definitely has written a great story and the audio was so enjoyable.

I absolutely loved this, Mercy had me giggling with tears with the witty banger and messy saying. Really loved her as a character, her past is absolutely heartbreaking but her healing journey warmed my heart. Rykers dedication to mercy as possessive as it was amazing. Them together made my heart soar. Amazing story that give others hope whatever the situation

Hilarious and moving

This Audiobook was spectacular !! I absolutely LOVED it.
Brandy Hynes is becoming a must listen author to me,I relished her previous series The KORT collection of books and this brand new series is a spin off from those books.
But you don't have to read or listen to KORT to be able to enjoy Rolling 75,which follows the Noire family and the women they fall for.
LaLune Noire is a family owned buisness a casino, hotel resort etc and a place where the criminals of the underworld can meet like mafia etc.
This is Ryker Noire's story and his pursuit for his best friend's love..Mercy Phillips.
Mercy ran away from her life 3 years ago after being in an abusive relationship, were she was beaten so badly she almost lost her life.
So with her son Jet/Remy she starts over someplace else to protect them from the father to her son Dalton and his family.
Ryker as been searching for her since she left,he has been in love with Mercy since they first met and now he was tired of waiting.
When he finds her he will do everything to make her his and show her how much he has always loved her.
He does succeed in finding her and she is so angry but Ryker makes her an offer she cannot refuse.
One of the stipulations of her coming home is she has to be Ryker's fake fiance and work for the Noire's as their lawyer.
Honestly Ryker and Mercy have such a complicated relationship but one thing is so apparent is they do LOVE eachother...and their chemistry is explosive...It was that tragic night when mercy almost died that stole their friendship nothing was the same after that night.Which is why Ryker was determined to NOT be her friend,he want her to be his EVERYTHING.!
You will love to hate Ryker he will make you swoon because he will do anything for Mercy and her Son Remy.
Ryker and Mercy do clash at times and have some epic fights but do love one another despite the pretence from Mercy to not to.....Ryker is quite vocal with what he wants from Mercy.
The Noires have enemies in the line of work they do and catering to criminals and there is a threat to them and unknowingly it is Mercy who is the one in danger.
Coming back to live with Ryker she discovers things about her father, her mothers death and the past that she is finding it hard to come to terms with.
I did like Mercy she was a survivor and stronger than she gave herself credit for and even when things were unravelling about Ryker and the past etc she didn't run from it.
Ryker is SWOON OMG he may be Obsessive, posessive and jealous..a bit overbearing at times. But when you find out just how much he adores Mercy it will melt your heart.
The Narration to this book is absolutely SUPERB !! Both narrators Brandon Francis and Andi Eloise are new to me and I was so impressed by their performances.
OOOOOMG Brandons voice just did it for me it pushed all my buttons and I wanted to devour it..lol..His smooth casual timber was like silk,I got goosebumps and it did things to me I can't explain..He was irresistable as Ryker and made me blush once or twice,I LOVED it.
Andi Eloise was the perfect compliment to Brandon's voice and was exceptional as Mercy her voice was so easy to enjoy.
I kind of Hope Brandy Hynes chooses Brandon and Andi for all of the books in this series.
Listening to this story is a whole new ball game with Brandon and Andi's voices,it made the story so much more mesmorising and delectable.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story I was addicted and my oh my I NEVER seen the twist that came at the end,I never guessed who the bad guy was and it was genius how the pieces came together from the past to the present.
This series is going to be Epic and I am already claiming Jax Noire the tattoo artist who is a bit unhinged and he is my kind of crazy.
I am excited for ALL the stories but especially his...Brandy's storytelling is perfect.
This book is a dark, steamy, thrilling and a delicious ride and I loved it.
Excellent
