Summary

Don’t talk to strangers.

Zak: Tattoo artist. Independent. Doesn’t do relationships.

Stitch: Outlaw biker. Deep in the closet. Doesn’t share his property.

On the day of Stitch’s divorce, lust personified enters the biker bar he’s celebrating at. Tattooed all over, pierced, confident, and hot as hellfire, Zak is the bone Stitch has waited for life to throw him. All Stitch wants is a sniff, a taste, a lick. What follows instead is gluttony of the most carnal sort, and nothing will ever be the same. Forced to hide his new love affair from the whole world, Stitch juggles family, club life, and crime, but it’s only a matter of time until it becomes too hard.

Zak moves to Lake Valley in search of peace and quiet, but when he puts his hand into the jaws of a Hound of Valhalla, life gets all but simple. In order to be with Stitch, Zak’s biker wet dream, he has to crawl right back into the closet. As heated as the relationship is, the secrets, the hiding, the violence, jealousy, and conservative attitudes in the town rub Zak in all the wrong ways. When pretending he doesn't know what his man does becomes impossible, Zak needs to decide if life with an outlaw biker is really what he wants.

As club life and the love affair collide, all that’s left in Zak and Stitch’s life is mayhem.

Warning: Contains adult content - a gritty storyline, explicit language, violence, and torture

Brutally Brilliant!

I first read this book about 2 years ago and it took me on a journey of these authors library of books, which has me waiting eagerly for each new one that is published.
Their books are not for the faint hearted, whether you are reading this series, Sex & Mayhem, Kings of Hell MC (which the first is now also out on audiobook) or Guns n’ Boys.
Road of No Return is a vicious and brutal love story, be warned, it brings you face to face with the reality of inherent homophobia within certain lifestyles, in this case the Hounds of Valhalla MC.
Stitch is a newly divorced, closeted member of the Hounds of Valhalla and Zak is a, new to the area, tattoo artist. When Stitch sees Zak walk into the clubhouse there is an instant attraction.
Their relationship slowly develops, with many mistakes and arguments along the way due to Stitch’s need to stay closeted, if found out it could mean his death from his own brothers in the MC.
This can be an uncomfortable read at times, but that’s the great thing about K.A Merikan, they make you ask yourself questions, such as “What would I do for the one I love?”
I hope the rest of the series of books are going to come on audio.
As for the narrator, Wyatt Baker, he nailed it! 5 stars!

DNF this

Can I start by saying I was very surprised that I couldn't really get into this one, I've certainly liked all the previous books I've read by this author. Yet it wasn't the fault of the narrator either, although this is the first book I've heard him narrate, he was doing a lovely job and has a rather nice voice. I think it was just not my cup of tea. Even though the blurb piqued my interest, and I was sort of enjoying the start, I just wasn't that keen on either of the two main characters and I just wasn't in the mood to listen to anymore of their story. I certainly won't be giving up on reading any K.A. Merikan books that come my way in the future, nor will I forgo listening to Wyatt Baker because of this one book. Overall I would advice give it a try for yourself and don't let my experience put you off doing so.

Wish I could say I liked it.

First I want to say a lot of people may love this book. I didn’t because of the domestic violence and casual killings. But the characters are fairly good and the ending is definitely a shocker.

Dirty, gritty and dark. A great romance

I was excited to get an audio copy of one of my favorite books. The story and plot line were both so unique, dark, and dirty. Zak was by far my favorite character. He was strong willed and knew exactly what he wanted and needed. Stitch is an in the closet bad A biker whose world completely shifts when he sees Zak for the first time. Then it completely changed when he got his first tattoo from Zak.

This book was gritty and dark with some unexpected happenings. It is a book that is hard to put down and it is a book I can reread several times. The audio was a bit hard to listen to for me. Wyatt Baker did a great job creating the different voices. It was easy to know exactly who was talking. I just for some reason could not fall into it like I did when I read the book. Regardless this is still a book I highly recommend.

Gritty and Raw Goodness!

4.5 Stars!

Road of No Return is book one in the Sex & Mayhem Series. If you've read K.A. Merikan's books before, you know that they're amazing at writing dark, violent, gritty stories with alpha men that are willing to do just about anything to protect those they love.

This is not a story for the faint of heart, there's plenty of heat and sex and yes, even love, but don't expect Zak or Stitch to turn all mushy just because they fall for each other, because that's not what you'll find here. They're realistic and they are raw, and I found myself alternatively liking them and wanting to knock some sense into them. LOL

Wyatt Baker did a great job with the narration. His voice is gruff and deep and a bit rough around the edges, just like KA Merikan's characters are and it made the whole listening experience very enjoyable!

Definitely an audiobook you don't want to miss out on!

Just amazingly hot and beautifully narrated ~

I always love to listen to books I really liked, so I was over the moon when this comes out~ Wyatt Baker did an amazing job bringing Zak and Stitch to life with his amazing way of narrating and the way he changed his voice to adapt to different characters. This story is packed with action, super hot scenes and full of love. But it will be also full of pain, before Stitch will be able to accept himself for who he really is, but with Zak's help and love he will find the strength to do even the impossible~ This is the first of many audiobooks from these amazing authors I hope. ^^

Dark and Sexy MC

Stitch is a closeted biker for the Hounds of Valhalla. Zak is a sexy tattoo artist new to town. The two have a hot and secreted relationship, only to be discovered by everyone Stitch wished to hide it from.

I didn't always care for Stitch, but as selfish as he was, I could tell he cared for Zak and he really did try to make things work. That aside I loved the MC part of the story. All the gritty, dark, and intense moments when things went wrong were detailed beautifully. The intimate parts were hot, sexy, and erotic.

I thought Wyatt Baker did a great job and will be listening to more audios by him. I liked how he changed the voices for each character. It helped to bring them to life.

Dark motorcycle club story

This story was okay but not a favorite. The audio version actually made it better.

Stitch is a member of a motorcycle club, a steal your drugs, slit your throat, burn you down kind of club. Stitch is not a typical pretty boy biker. No sweetness to be found here. He’s not a likable person. Everything he does is for the good of his club. Except Zak, the man he’s falling in love with. Zak is just for him.

Zak knows that going back into the closet isn’t what he wants, but having Stitch might just be worth it. If Stitch can survive a rival club and his own club members, they just might make it together.

Stitch is not a likable character and I never really warmed up to him. Zak on the other hand was a sweetheart. This is definitely not a sweet book. Dark, bloody, in your face violence.

So hot and passionate

If you're into clean, safe, good guys, then turn around, this ain't the club for you. There's a tattoed wet dream named Zak, who walks in the Hounds of Valhalla bar and meets a raspy voiced, long haired biker named Stitch, and their hot headed romance explodes in a ride full of angst and passion. Stitch is rough and rowdy and shameless, but lives with a huge secret that comes out the day he meets Zak, and their relationship is sweaty, dirty and sexy. The book is full of sexy moments but also has unexpected tenderness and realistic reactions, and though Zak and Stitch may not be to every reader's liking, they are certainly attention catching and believable, and with a pure message: be yourself even if it cost you blood. The narrator did an amazing job, he had the perfect voice for Zak, soft, deep and plummy, and for Stitch, all raspy and mischievous, and his performance hit all the right emotional notes, especially the intimate scenes, which were narrated perfectly, as well the scenes where emotions ran high with anger. The story is exciting and the audiobook brought the characters to life and a new level of hotness.

Rough ride

This is a really tough ride. Not sweet at all. This is a true biker, closeted romance. It does have a HEA, but not predictable at all.
