Story
Gaining strength as he moves through the galaxy, Zade is beginning to get a feel for his new ship and crew. Although his main purpose is to find Earth so he can help protect them from forces like the Unity and Domain, the enormity of his task has started to wear on him. A broken and barely understandable radio signal pulls him and the crew from their slump. Can Anne triangulate the location of Earth? How long has it been since he got taken? What will he find when he gets there? Zade has to grapple with those questions as he makes a beeline for home.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Aliens exist...and, as it turns out, most of them aren’t that friendly. Jacob Brown wasn’t even born yet the first time they attacked Earth. He was only 14 the second time it happened. Serving aboard a mighty starship, he’d be able to defend his planet - and his family - when, inevitably, they came again.

What a let down from book 1!
I truly loved book 1, the story of was interesting the characters good and the action was entertaining.
The "love" interest story was mature and it was nice to see a more realistic timeframe for development.
The sci-fi and tech was realistic enough to allow for suspension of disbelief.
Book 2 : BOOM SPACE DEATH MAGIC ENERGY ON PAGE 3. Like wtf man did that come from. And the "love" interest forgets her personality from book 2 and is ruined. And there are even harem vibes!
Who wrote book 2? Did the author hit his head? Like book 1 was one of the best sci-fi books in a long time.....magic death energy.... FFS.

what happened to the 1st book
the first book was all about nano machines and how they can heal the body but apparently the second book was all about a alien armor where instead of points to upgrade it was about harvested souls from dead enemies and Nano machines went out the door I heard nothing about nano machines but only once that I can remember so everything that happened in the first book with all the technology and everything was out the door. the second book was all about the suit and nothing more and when he got hurt you don't hear nothing about nanobots healing his body like in the first book apparently it's like the author realized that he made the guy too powerful in the first book and by giving him a alien advance suit he hoped that we forgot how how survived being burn and taken to space outside the ship and losing a arm and was saved by nano bots.

Great series and narration..
Another good story about earthling Zade and Samix and AI Ananna (AKA Ann) and their travels toward earth, while stopping along the way to help anyone they can. This time it was miners and pirates and big mining corporations. This time he takes on two Baast, cat-like aliens, brother and sister Mara and Max.
Moving on to the next book today!!!
A little romance and the F-bomb was used 31 times.
As for the narration: Awesome!!! Michael Braun is a great reader with great voices and emotions.

This second book in the series is a perfect continuation. Honestly, I like everything about the book, and highly recommend it. Really looking forward to the next one in the continuing saga of Zade, Sam, Mara, Max, and Ann. Every character is well developed and fits well into the overall story.
